I didn't see a thread for the SMU absn Spring 2021 cohort so I just wanted to start one!

I'm currently in the process of applying right now and working on my personal statements!

Hey is there anyway we can get a scholarship for this program it’s so expensive. 
 

Also will there be any ways to not receive interest for the loans because it’s against some peoples religion?

 

also do some places do the loan forgiveness?

I actually read about this last night after I saw your post. Very interesting. I had never heard of the term “riba” before. Unfortunately, I am unaware of any scholarships or lenders that will give a loan without interest. What you can do is look up organizations you can work for after you finish the program. There are some organizations you can sign contracts with for 3 or so years and they’ll pay off a majority of your loans, however; it’s terrible pay considering the going rate for BSN nurses in CA. Unfortunately I’m waitlisted. A few people have said they were accepted and are not going, so I guess we shall see. My husband went to a similar school, just different career path/field and there was no scholarships. He said it was actually really great SMU discloses FASFA will not cover the entire program, because my husband’s school did not. My family had to help financially every quarter for him to be able to sign up for classes which was unexpected.

Hi , I want to apply for ABSN program Summer. The deadline shows as Dec 1 and Samuel Merritt website asks you to apply through allnurseca site. When I go to this site, it does not give you a option to select samuel Merritt ABSN program. How did you guys apply? I would appreciate any reply on this.
