Members are discussing various topics related to their nursing program admissions, such as deadlines for health care requirements, background checks, acceptance emails, and orientation information. Some members are also sharing their experiences with being admitted to different cohorts and creating Facebook groups to connect with their peers. Additionally, there is confusion about the timing of acceptance notifications for different cohorts.
Hi ya'll, starting a discussion for those who applied to Summer 2025 cohort at SMU! I'm curious to know if anyone has gotten any emails/updates? I personally applied to the Oakland campus. Goodluck everyone! : ).

I can't find it but yesterday they said that we will only need the color vision test if our clinical requires it and that we only need the physical for the program for now. I think the "eye test" is apart of the physical because thats the only form available here but not sure. https://www.samuelmerritt.edu/discover/student-affairs/student-health-and-counseling
I applied to ABSN Summer 2025 so far only an email back in Jan 31 2025 but had applied to ELMSN case management and had an interview a few days ago and they make their decisions next week it's costly and I definitely want the ABSN but we will see how soon they accept into that program let the wait began.
The one thing I will say is I don't knwo your background but for me an ABSN would make more sense to do as getting the experience from working would be everything. I am a career changer that does not have a background in healthcare so working in the field is pretty much everything. The extra year in school you are spending to get the masters before you have worked might be better spent working, then going back (which is what I plan to do) after working and getting real world experience for e a couple years? That is my take on it, as an extra year is a long time if you need the real world experience.

Hello. I reached out to two counselors and one told me that I didn't get accepted at this time and another said that applications are still in review and to wait until the end of March for final decision. It might be best to wait till then. You never know.
