Hi everyone! I'm starting this discussion for those who applied for SMU ABSN program for the Fall 2024 cohort! I was curious if anyone has received updates/email yet. I personally applied to the Sacramento program. Good luck everyone! I  

Does anyone know what the format is for the Fresno campus? Is it hybrid? In person? Who is the contact for Fresno?

It's the same person as Sac and she said it's fully in person. 3 days of class/lab on campus and 2 days of clinical within an 100 mile radius Fresno. And oh I forgot about people who may have accepted Fresno! So more than 2 for some of us!

Hi All, 

I got an update that I'm number 2 on the waitlist for San Mateo. Anyone know the likelihood of getting accepted? Luckily start date is in November so plenty of time, but curious.

Hi! I asked for Sac and this was their response. I am currently number 1. 

I will be sending out weekly notifications on waitlist status' from now until the program starts. With you being number 1, I think you have a very high chance since you will be the next one pulled if someone drops, defers, can't attend, takes a Leave of Absence etc. Now I can't predicate the future (I wish I could ) and tell you FORSURE someone will drop, but I can let you know from past experiences that we have had movement all the way up until a week before classes begin.

Once there is movement on the waitlist (especially for the top 3), I will send you guys updates ASAP. Also, since you are number 1, you will be invited to our New Student Orientation, in case you are pulled from WL closer to the program start. I hope this eased some stress. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

I also got a update yesterday and it said that I'm number 4 on the waitlist for San Mateo. I feel like you have a very high chance of getting in. Does anyone know in the past terms how it has been for those on the waitlist.

For those that are admitted. What are the requirements or things we need to get done before starting in November? I would like to get started on them to make sure that I am 100% ready in case I get accepted in the last moment. What instructions did you receive for drug test, CPR certification, and background check. I did complete these except CPR certification for another program would they accept those (it was done in June) or would I need to redo them.

I just got an email for an invitation to the new student orientation for Sacramento! They said only the top 3 waitlisted get that invite, and on Monday I was number 4. I'm assuming that there has been movement, and if you were number one it must be good news!

Hi! I received the same email but no movement for me, still waitlisted. So maybe someone else above you took the Fresno offer? Either way good you moved up, see you at orientation 🙂
