Samuel Merritt Fall 2023 BSN Program

Updated:   Published

Hello all! I have been anxiously searching forums for the past 2 months. I have been reading over previous applicants and their experience during the waiting period. I thought I might start a thread for those of us who have applied for the fall of 2023 cohort. Looking forward to the next few weeks of waiting with those who have applied!

I received that email too. More waiting but at least we know. I'll reserve my anxiety until the end of April LOL. Good luck to everyone!

I also received that email! Does anyone remember when they extended the application due date "due to the amount of increased applications" or something like that LOL. I wonder if that was true bc if there's a lot of applications you would think they would want to close it right? LOL I'm just hoping they were lying so I can ease my anxiety and hope there weren't too many applicants LOL

The due date was changed from December 1 to December 23. I wonder if we will find out by the Friday before the 23 of April (that would be April 21).  Hope so! I'm anxious to find out the results.

Do you guys think they'll release decisions this week or they will keep up anxiously waiting till next week LOL

Hi! I feel like we will have to wait another week. Cut off for applications was December 23 (after extension). I wish it was this week though!! The waiting is becoming stressful LOL.

I'm just telling myself that we will find out next week. Even though I check my email every 10 minutes everyday anyway. This has been stressful. I can't make any future plans until I know whether I'm getting in or not.

It would be great if we found out this week. I was fully looking forward to finding out the first weeks of April since all the past forums have found out around then. This chat seems less active when compared to previous cycles. However, I am sure there are people reading and not responding. Or maybe people just don't realize this platform of communication exists. Has anyone applied to SMU before?

Yeah I was reading the fall 2022 one and people were saying something ab the admitted students portal showing the status sooner but when you go on it says please do not log in unless admitted .This is my first time applying hbu?

This is my first time applying as well but I've been on this forum for years. It has been pretty dead. It got me thinking maybe there would be less applicants because this post isn't getting many replies, but the fact that they pushed back the deadline shows the opposite.

Yeah but you would think if they had so many applicants they would want to close it not open it up for more is what I was thinking.

I agree with your sentiment, I feel they extended applications so they could receive more applicants. It doesn't make any sense the other way around. I have been lurking, mostly, because I don't feel that there is any point of speculating if we are going to get in or not. It just gives me anxiety ?
