Hi, everyone! Just wanted to start a forum for those applying to SMU's ELMSN Fall 2019 program. I know the admission deadline was about a month ago and I wanted to know if anyone has heard back yet! I applied for the FNP track ?

The interviewers on Thursday 2/21/2019 for the FNP program stated applicants would receive their Admission notifications ,via email, by today. Has anyone got word yet?

Yesterday I completed my interview for the CM program. I'm not too happy about it. I felt rushed by the interviewer because she didn't ask me all the questions. She stated instead that I ,basically, answered all her questions; however, I felt different. How would I know if she didn't ask me the questions? I also that I kindof messed up a little bit on the question about tell me about yourself, so had I been asked the other questions, I would have been able to get it together and convey my message. Nonetheless, she repeatedly stated that I was doing good. Not sure if that was sincere or not.

The CM program is a classic interview style. They asked if I would commute to school or not, what my educational journey is, to describe a time when I was in a leadership role and how I worked in a team as a leader, and went over the whole "Tell me about yourself" question. They also went over my grades and Hesi scores briefly. It was very quick as she only went over my prerequisites. They also asked if I had applied to other programs at SMU and other schoools. If you did apply to other programs, be prepared to state what your preference is because that is what she asked me; I felt I was in the hot seat with that questions. They tell you to only apply to two programs at a time because if you apply to three then they will know you aren't passionate about one specific field.

How would I know if I answered all her questions if she didn't ask me the questions? I ,certainly, didn't discuss why SMU or discuss what I knew about the CM role. I felt that I messed up a little bit on the whole "Tell me about yourself," question, so had I been asked the other questions, I would have been able to get it together and convey my message and feel confident about my response. Nonetheless, she repeatedly stated that I was doing good. Not sure if that was sincere or not. The interview was supposed to be 1 hour; I would like to say mine was about 30 mins. It was very uncomfortable and a little unfair.

Hi, we were told decision would come out Friday? So dont worry and relax for now. Everything will work out just right ??

My interview was last Friday, and they also told us decisions will come out today. Lol

Its not in our control! I really appreciate this forum bc it is helping me to relax! We’re all in the same boat!! And I agree with @GParadise everything will all work out! ?

I seriously check my email.. every two seconds. I’ve never had such anxiety!

I remember hearing the same thing! Were you in the 10AM? I keep checking as well ?. Based on my interview experience, everyone seemed like great candidates so I’m sure they’re working hard on decisions. Wishing you the best.

@JBBSN07 no, I was in the 1PM! She said it so confidently and was so sure! It even surprised me! ?

Maybe they were just overly optimistic on the timeline last week. Lol But I agree everyone did very well in my group too. We’re all wonderful candidates!!
