Hi, everyone! Just wanted to start a forum for those applying to SMU's ELMSN Fall 2019 program. I know the admission deadline was about a month ago and I wanted to know if anyone has heard back yet! I applied for the FNP track ?

By the grace of God, I was accepted into the Fall 2019 FNP program as well. Fruitloops91, I was in the interview with you and the other girls. I am very excited for my journey to begin; however, I am even more excited to wait and hear everyone's story of them getting int. You all will get in!

Hey! I found out I got accepted into the CM program the same way. While attempting my letter of intent for the ELMN FNP, both the FNP and CM programs were posted and stated I was admitted. I didn't get an official letter either. They are still holding interviews for CM, so maybe we just found out a littler earlier than they thought we would. I know in my CM interview, the interviewer asked which program was my preference and I said FNP, so that could be a reason, but I think not.
For those who did get accepted, we will need to study as much A&P as possible, for the next 6 months. Both faculty and student have shared with me that the SMU Pathophysiology and Pharmacology course is advanced . I got an A in Pathophysiology, a class I took at Cal State East Bay among BSN students, and SMU staff told me I couldn't waive their Pathophysiology course because it is more advanced than CSU courses.
I was told by my friends in the program to memorize lab values as well.
Anyways, I hope to hear more stories about students accepted and waitlisted into the program. For those who didn't get in, you will get in next time around. Please do not give up. I applied to Sacramento's FNP program last year and I didn't get in; however, this time, I was accepted into both FNP and CM. Remember that the next time you apply, you need to have at least one new letter of recommendation. I say try to get shadowing hours in or volunteer more. I got help with writing my personal statement letter from the diversity center at SMU and student support services.

Congratulations to those who got accepted! I’m on the waitlist. I was on the waitlist last cohort too. It only moved a few spots. I did, however, get accepted into the ABSN on my first try so I’m going to take that instead and work my way up to FNP or CRNA!
