Samuel Merritt ELMNS Spring 2015

Published

Hello

I will be re-applying for the ELMNS spring 2015 program at the sacramento campus. Is anyone also doing the same?

I tried to search that in Facebook, and am unable to find it. Literally copied and pasted.

You should click on the link above! That's how I found it :)

Found out I was wait listed and am pretty disappointed as it is a worse spot than I was waitlisted last year. I am trying to remain positive but it is really hard. I am a reapplicant and I just don't know what they want me to do differently. I met with admissions counselor and talked on the phone multiple times and followed the advice she gave me down to the tee, but still nothing. I have a family so moving is not an option for me. Unfortunately, I think my options are very slim and will be looking at other career options. I know this is what I want to do, so it is hard to put this behind me and move on, but what other choice is there.

Sorry for the downer, but that is excatly how I feel right now. I am still very excited for those of you who have received acceptance this year, you all deserve it

I'm sorry to hear that but don't ever give up on nursing if that is what you want to do. If you really want it, you will get there. Maybe SMU is not the school for you but there are other schools that are lucky to have you as a student. Keep trying! You will get there:)

Too bad #13. I am not giving up... I continue to hope :)

Good for you:)

Don't lose hope lr254! I didn't get in this year, it was my first time applying. But I will try again for the Fall cohort. I know this is what I want to do, and if this is what you are truly passionate about too, then continue to try and reach for it. How was the reapplicant interview if you don't mind me asking? Was it different from first time applicants? Good luck in whatever you decide to do. Stay positive.

That's my motto as well: STAYING POSITIVE! It is easier said than done, but I long to make it a practice. Becoming a Family Nurse someday is what I look forward to. I will not stop going for it.

I spoke with the admission counsellor: 25 of us are wait listed and 27 were admitted. Nonetheless I still feel great I was wait listed (#13) because I had a strong application from the beginning. "It is just that there were more qualified candidates and fewer spots available for admission."

If I don't get in I plan to reapply for the Fall. No giving up folks!

And again I seize the opportunity to congratulate each one who got in. We worked hard for this.

Goodday everyone :angrybird10:

I was waitlisted too fffnpsp15 :( gotta stay positive though

Can anyone tell me a little more about the CM track as well as profession? Thanks

Thanks csnp, looking into other options. The reapplication process is essentially the same except for the interview portion. We are broken up into 2 groups, all re-applicants, and sat with out interviewers. We had to go around and tell why we thought we didn't get in the 1st time and then what we have done since we last applied to get more experience, etc. That really is all, seems simple, but apparently not so simple.

Good luck to you as well!

Hi guys! I'm an ELMSN FNP student at the Sac campus and just wanted to congratulate all those who go in! Great job! And to those who are still wait listed, don't lose hope!

This is an awesome program and the faculty really take care of you. Just stay focused and stay hungry! I'll be happy to answer any questions any of you might have, to the best of my ability and hope to see you guys on campus, soon!

Thanks Gokings! I'll be starting the ELMSN FNP program in January and I was curious if we should review any material before starting. Is there anything you wish you would have looked over or prepared for beforehand?

Congrats YCNPHopeful!

You will be starting with pathophysiology/Pharm, so if I could prepare more beforehand it may be reviewing the patho. But I would also recommend just enjoying the time off while you have it!

You will hit the ground running so I do recommend spending as much time with family & friends now. But you can always review some things (for me, pathophys is always important to have a strong background on).

Hope this helps! I'll see you around on campus, soon! Congrats again!

Thanks for the tips Gokings, I really appreciate it! I've been looking over Pathophys and Pharm as a refresher but I'll definitely make sure to enjoy what time I have left for family/friends. I do have have one random question actually. For guys, what shoes would you recommend? A few of us were wondering if anyone had any recommendations. Do they have to be ALL white? And are sneakers allowed? Any info you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for your help!
