Just wanted to start a thread for the students applying to this time frame! Deadline's around the corner. ?

Hi guys! Hoping to get some advice.

So about a month ago I took my first TEAS exam. Here's my score breakdown: Reading: 85%, Math 100%, science 95.7%, and English/Language 79.2%.

I took it again last week to bump up my English/Language score and while I was able to do that, I tanked everywhere else: Reading 76%, Math 96%, Science 87%, and English/Langauge 87%. ?

My question is, should I send in my score report for this second TEAS? Does Sam.Merritt have access to our scores whether we send official copies of them or not?

SMU has access to all TEAS score but they only use your highest overall scores.

I should have added that they’ll have access to the scores if you indicated SMU as a score card recipient. Still, they’re only interested in your highest attempt. BTW, your original scores were really good/competitive, but I understand wanting to improve.

Ah okay. Seems like I may as well send them then. 

Ha, yes thanks. Yeah it was a good score! Just felt that I wasn't at 80% on the English portion technically, so I felt like okay may as well give it another go. Made the last few weeks so exhausting. ?

Understandable! My first attempt scores were all over the place. I scored almost perfect in the Reading and English language sections, really well in the math section (a surprise to me), and completely bombed in science (an even bigger shocker). I think I was tired and rushed through the science part because I took it again and scored in the 90s!
 

Because SMU only has a “recommended” TEAS minimum and not a “required” minimum, final admit scores vary a bit.

Very true. Seems like a toss up from what you've mentioned before. I guess we just sit tight now.

I’m taking my TEAS tomorrow for the first time. I also scheduled a second test for Wednesday so that I have two options when it comes time for me to submit my scores later this week. Does anyone have any advice for the exam as far as areas you think they tend to focus on per subject? I’ve heard to know the pathway of the heart for sure. I’ve been studying like crazy but I’m so nervous....

You'll do great! Make sure to get proper rest for sure, since it's tomorrow!

To be honest I took it twice and didn't feel like science focused on any one system in particular. I did feel the practice assessments B and C from ATI were pretty close to the real thing across all the sections. My advice would be to do practice questions as much as you can, but since it's tomorrow make sure to get good rest as well!

I have question about sending application updates to my programs on nursing.cas. Once I send updates to my schools. Does it let me send updates again? I am still waiting to receive grade for one class which I want to update later. It says "Send application updates to your submitted programs"  Any info on this??

I am fairly confident you can update as mich as you need to until their cut off date of (I believe) January 15th. I’ve updated mine twice now, I updated my grade and sent in final transcripts for a course.

Hey guys! For those of us that e-mailed a copy of their HESI scores to  [email protected] , did you guys just send that score report that they provided to us right after we took finished taking the exam? I tried logging into my HESI account to see if there was another one, but it seems that was the only one other than the official one that I still haven't received yet? Does anybody know if they're mailing the official one?
