Just wanted to start a thread for the students applying to this time frame! Deadline's around the corner. ?

The high pass rate could be because the ones who would have failed dropped out. My program has already lost about 5 people.

I have a friend who said her cohort lost 2 people.I think maybe this time more dropped due to covid situations?

At least 2 failed out that I'm aware of. 1 because of COVID.

failed out as in not passing a class? If you don't pass one class, do you automatically fail out? That's scary!

Is the pace of the program really intense? I'm going to be honest here, I'm a little worried reading your comments!! but thanks for sharing

Correct - to pass you need a 73% average on all exams and overall in the class. If you get below then you fail.

The program is totally doable! I am putting in minimal effort and getting by just fine. I'm just recommending paying less somewhere else if you have that option.

Wow it sounds like a really intense program. I'm a little disheartened hearing the comments as well. SMU is my #1 school

It's not that intense. I didn't mean to be a Debby Downer. I'm just irritated with the insane cost to teach myself. If I can do it barely trying then anyone can.

@honeyhoney That's good to know! Could you share your insight and experiences regarding clinicals? Are they difficult? I can imagine with it being an accelerated program, the clinicals are much shorter in length as well. Is it difficult to learn the skills in such short amount of time? Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences with us! Really great to get to know what exactly we're getting ourselves into haha..

My clinicals are disorganized and still haven't started. Got pushed back again. I feel like I've learned nothing in skills and am not prepared at all. Feel free to PM me for more info.

Oh man! Sorry to hear that! Does that mean you guys won't be graduating in 12 months then?

Does anyone know if getting that 2nd e-mail today about phase 2 mean that we're likely to be accepted or do you think admissions sends that to every applicant?

I think if you got that email, it means they're going to go through phase 2 with your application. Then we'll find out mid March if we got accepted, rejected, or waitlisted.

Oh OK got it! Thanks!... so exactly as it says in e-mail haha? Trying not to overthink this! Do you anyone of you know if they sent these phase 2 emails last cycle? I applied last cycle and only got the initial preliminary email but nothing about my app moving into phase 2
