Can anyone confirm that they received this email and has Oakland as their first choice?

I have oakland as my first choice and received it.

Ahhh I'm getting real nervous!! Any of you applying to San Mateo as your first choice?!

Me. I put San Mateo April as my first choice, Oakland as my second and San Mateo June as my third.

I also had San Mateo April as my first choice. Sounds like we are going to find out about admissions that 1 month before the start date which is super close. I was looking at the ABSN 2021 academic calendar and saw that orientation is 3/19 and class starts on 4/19 for the April start... so we will see how this goes haha

@ejwabsn Is that academic calendar for the Oakland or San Mateo cohort?

This is for April San Mateo

Here is the link for the academic calendars https://www.samuelmerritt.edu/sites/default/files/2020-12/Calendar - 2021-2022 ABSN.pdf

Am I the only one who applied for San Mateo June start? LOL

At the time, I was thinking the more time I have as a "break", the better haha

Makes sense to have a break! I had that as my second choice, Oakland being the first and San Mateo April being the last.

I applied to San Mateo June cohort for my first choice ?

I got the same email today.

Does anyone have insight on when to apply for financial aid for student loans? I assume not until after you get an acceptance letter, but seems like a really short time frame to get approval from FAFSA.

Current SMU student here. If you are offered a spot in another nursing program I encourage you to choose that over SMU. The "teaching" method at SMU is called "flipped classroom" which means you do not have lecture with your professors and are expected to teach yourself. Essentially, you are paying $80K to teach yourself.
