Just wanted to start an information-sharing thread for those applying for the ABSN Summer 19 cohort at Samuel Merritt University (in Oakland, CA and San Mateo, CA). Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Hi all! Although I did submit my intent to enroll for Oakland, I have decided to go elsewhere. Just wanted to let anyone still on the wait list know. Good luck!

Does anyone know how many waitlisters have been admitted so far for San Mateo June cohort?

sounds like from the responses here that for sure the first 5 have been admitted

Yeah that's what I figured. Thanks. I am in the first couple of two digit numbers. Might be a long shot for me this time around. Still hoping to see some movement ?

Those on the waitlist did you apply to the November Cohort? Hopefully we hear back from that before we would have to apply to for the Jan one so we don't have to keep spending money on applications.

I would suggest reapplying if you haven’t heard anything back from them. I was waitlisted last cohort and applied again as soon as I found out. I was never informed about my position on the waitlist. If I remember correctly, NursingCas saves most of your basic information. It’s definitely trying times but keep up the hard work! It will pay off.

does anyone know when orientation is? Is it may 6th or may 10th?

According to SMU Pulse, if you are in Oakland cohort, it will be Apr 29; if you are in San Mateo cohort, it will be May 10.

Thanks! I was just confused because I saw some academic calendar that said it was May 6th, thanks for clarifying!

I just emailed Derric to check my place on the waitlist. I was originally #18 and am currently #11 for the San Mateo summer cohort.
