Just wanted to start an information-sharing thread for those applying for the ABSN Summer 19 cohort at Samuel Merritt University (in Oakland, CA and San Mateo, CA). Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

I also did a 9 week college level CNA program to get more patient interaction while running my own business and volunteering a minimum of 4 hrs a week at a hospital. They offer it once or twice a year at the community college in my town. Theory was once a week from 0800- 1600 and Clinical two days a week from 0630-1330. Alternatively, CNA progress are offered throughout the county at Skilled Nursing Facilities and are 8-12 weeks and the students are paid.

@JBBSN07 I did a 5 week CNA program at the American Red Cross in Oakland! It cost around $1500 and was M-F 7:30-3:00, if I am remembering correctly. First couple of weeks were theory, and then clinicals were in Richmond for the remaining hours!

Hello! I was originally #9 on the waitlist for San Mateo and just got accepted on Wednesday.

Hi all, I was originally #12 on the waitlist for ABSN June cohort in San Mateo and just got accepted yesterday. I have until May 10th to submit the letter of intent. All the best to those of you still on the waitlist. It sure moved quickly in the last couple of weeks ?
