Just wanted to start an information-sharing thread for those applying for the ABSN Summer 19 cohort at Samuel Merritt University (in Oakland, CA and San Mateo, CA). Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

I'm gonna wait a few weeks then email if I don't hear any news.

Yah I asked Derric what I could do to strengthen my application and he didn't give me much info to help :/ I also always seem to get different thoughts from Derric vs Anne even know the same people are the ones on the comity in all SM campuses to get in. So I'm confused and a little hopeless rn

I was on the waiting list last time and I never heard anything. I think they only contact you if you are moved off the waiting list and do not contact you with updates otherwise.

Hang in there guys!! I think April cohort had their orientation today. Can someone from April confirm if the room was full? Some folks defer their admission due to various reasons ( family, finances, medical, moving jobs, etc) which will then open some spots!! Don’t lose hope!!!

hi all, i am in the april cohort and we actually had our orientation on the 15. they took roll through a sign in sheet, so i cant confirm if everyone showed up but the room looked pretty full. not sure of the exact number per cohort, but if it helps, we also passed our class resgistration mark. from there, i was able to see 40 seats for lectures (no option for choosing different times) which we all had to sign up for. i just checked right now, and it states there are still about 5 seats available of the 40. not sure if theyre leaving those open or if those are meant to be completely filled and some people still havent followed through with the process. hope this helps!
