Hi Everyone! I know this is a bit early but I will be applying to SMU for the ABSN program of Summer 2014 (Oakland Campus). I am currently finishing my Bachelor's degree in health science at CSUEB right now and I will be done in the fall. I just wanted to start a discussion on this topic and get to know some people who are applying to the program for summer 2014. Let's get to know each other, share our stats, etc.
Here are my estimated stats that they look at:
Last 60 units GPA: 3.5
Pre req GPA: 3.4
Teas: 83 but I am re taking it in a couple of weeks
Experience: I am a CNA and Med tech currently. I volunteer at John Muir hospital and at American Red Cross.
I hope to hear from some prospective applicants soon!
Also after speaking with an admissions rep I was informed everyone that was offered acceptance has until Feb 1st to confirm. It wasn't made clear what was all required as I did not see an acceptance packet in the email. I went ahead and paid my deposit and initiated my background check.
Thanks mr. Kim!

even if they have until the first, people can still drop though right? I remember the sac campus sending the wait list emails until the first day to make sure everyone that accepted showed up. i could be wrong.
yes of course they can drop at any point. They would just lose the non-refundable $350 deposit. But it happens. I just paid $250 at another school and am dropping because of Samuel Merritt University. It just sucks for those who are notified last minute that have to move a long distance.
I remember you were looking for a roommate. You should try the SMU roommate finder

I read her email wrong unfortunately
. SHe meant to say 5 people accepted their offers for the cohort
. But someone else said they would be calling to see if there is any movement, but if not everyone has accepted offers yet, there really isn't anything we can do but wait and hope. I wonder on average how many people get moved up? ughhhh waiting game is not fun.
