So, the applications are due today (September 1st) for summer admission to ABSN program at Samuel Merritt. How does everyone feel about their application?? :up: :down: What campus did you apply to?

Thank you for all of your encouraging words. I hope I"ll find out that day haha. However, I applied to San Mateo and I don't think I'll hear back until later next week. But, that's okay as long as I hear back with good news. :)

How are you liking the program? Do you have any tips to provide? Any advice is appreciated!

hii sorry it took me forever to respond. but yes i absolutely love the program! one thing i remember them telling us during orientation is that they really take the time in choosing each applicant because they are interested in choosing people of different backgrounds and personalities in hopes that not only do we learn academically, but learn new things from different people. And it's amazing the group of people you will be going on this journey we all came from very different walks of life which enriches our class much more than we thought.

as far as tips - i can tell you about study tips and good books to recommend, what worked for me & what didn't through this insane program, but for now all i can say is enjoy your time now while you can, but don't ever lose the motivation and drive to keep going. you're going to need all the energy you can in any nursing program! if you guys have any other specific questions let me know :) till then, good luck & hang in there!

Someone else might want to ask about San Mateo... I actually called and left a message asking for status for Summer 2012, but got an email back specifically for Oakland, which is my first choice.

I got hung up on when I just called a second ago. I was on hold and the call ended. I called earlier today and said I would like to know if the admission decisions have been delayed? They said, they are working on them and that the SF campus has been decided. They said it should happen quickly. I said, how long is quick? They were not sure. I told them that I would like to know because I need to plan my next couple of months etc....

I think it would be a good idea to call and ask them if they are still accepting applications for Summer 2012... That question should give us some indicators as to what is really going on.

Mittens123 did you call the director which had been suggested in earlier posts? Katiebelle1 - did you call the director since the other admissions person had suggested calling if we didn't hear back on Friday?

No the person I talked to said to call her if I hadn't heard back from **** but she did call me back yesterday and said that they still had not given her the list. Im not planning on calling the Director but you can. Her number is on SM website. You can private message me if you want her name or I am sure you can find it (Director of Admissions). I don't want to say her name because I guess we aren't supposed to name specific staff in this public forum.

Anyone should feel free to contact her. I am just going to sit tight for now. I am sure we will hear this coming week....
