**Samuel Merritt ABSN Summer 2011**

So, who applied?

I just saw the ATI testing on the tuition page, KILL me if we have to take that test again!!

Your test questions will be NCLEX style, Sam Merritt uses ATI to help prep for NCLEX testing. You are paying for the books from ATI and access.

Thanks White Scrubs, I thought that mite be what ATI is for.

Hey everyone!

I was recently accepted to the summer 2011 ABSN program at Samuel Merritt. I am so excited but I am nervous about the price of Samuel Merritt tuition. I was also accepted to San Francisco State nursing program and wanted some advice on what program to choose. I know Samuel Merritt is a a shorter program but San Francisco State is a lot cheaper. I just feel really conflicted on what program to pick.

Any advice? Thank you!

Mal - I'd wait until you get your Financial Aid Award Letter, so you know how much you want to borrow. You can call ----- in Fin Aid, she's very sweet and helpful for further info.

@RNC.C - you are a second bachelors and was accepted to SFSU? Or were you accepted to the masters program?

The debt is definitely something to consider. I personally have a hard time justifying private school tuition if I had a much cheaper option, but everyone is coming from a different place and you need to find the program that is the best fit for you. What are your goals and which program is a better fit for that? Have you read the threads to see what the SFSU program is like?

I am a second bachelor student so I was accepted to San Francisco State Sequioa cohort for Fall and Samuel Merritt Accelerated bachelors for summer. Im just so conflicted and dont want to make sure the wrong choice. I know that Samuel Merritt is only one year but Ive also heard great things about SFSU. I guess I just wanted to hear other peoples opinions because I have to make my admission decisions within the next couple days and there is no time to schedule a counselor appointment.

I appreciate all the help!

Hi rncc! Congratulations in getting accepted into both programs! Of course there's a lot to consider wen choosing schools.. But one of my major concerns was timing. I think if you're financially secured, live with parents/spouse and have time to live out a college life, I'd choose sf state. Its a beautiful campus and much more cost efficient in that case. For me personally, I didn't apply to state. I live on my own and don't have anyone to help support me while in school, so My main concern is timing. I chose Samuel meritt knowing in the long run that the price is worth it. Hope this helps a bit, Good luck!

bubbles313 thank you for imput. So attended Samuel Merritt? I got into the San Mateo campus. How has your experience been? Have you started classes?

I start in may at the Oakland campus. After hearing what ppl has said on previous forums about their experience- I can't wait to start! Good luck on making your choice :D

RNC.C - If I were you I would take SF state. The amount of money that SMU costs in this economy is crazy. Do you want to spend many years paying off private loans just to get out of school one year earlier? The job market stinks right now. Sure there are people who will tell you they know people that got jobs right out of school, but this is not the norm. Take your time and save your money!
