Hello!
I'm new to this site, but have been following the allnurses posts regarding Samuel Merritt program applications religiously for a while now. I recently applied to the ABSN and ELMSN - FNP program for the July 1 deadline. Thought it would be great to have a place to provide insight, stay updated and share experiences with all of you through this terrifying journey. I mean we ONLYYY have to wait until October - November to hear anything. Let the wait begin.....
Looking forward to hearing from you all :)
Hello Samuel Merritt ABSN students! For those of you who are in the program right now, could you tell me what it's like? I would like to apply but I'm afraid it's going to be too intense with two young kids. I'm torn between- "it's only a year! I can figure it out!" and "what if I don't see my kids for a whole year??". TIA for your insights!

Hey! I am currently in the program. Honestly, time management is the most crucial part. Some moms are having a hard time, feelings of guilt, but schedule kid time. There is a mom here that said she will comment with her opinion. I think it’s so worth it. Getting it done in a whole year, I plan to have kids soon so I wanted to get it done quickly. I think the program is great. We do get two breaks that are a few weeks long too. I rarely feel overwhelmed, but I write my schedule out in advance.
Current schedule:
Monday/Tuesday clinical 6:45-6:45
Wednesday and Thursday class 9-3:50
every other Friday we have SIM lab 11-1
