Samuel Merritt ABSN - Spring 2019

Published

Hello!

I'm new to this site, but have been following the allnurses posts regarding Samuel Merritt program applications religiously for a while now. I recently applied to the ABSN and ELMSN - FNP program for the July 1 deadline. Thought it would be great to have a place to provide insight, stay updated and share experiences with all of you through this terrifying journey. I mean we ONLYYY have to wait until October - November to hear anything. Let the wait begin.....

Looking forward to hearing from you all :)

Did most of you apply to other programs as backup or to increase your chances of getting into another program?

I applied to other community colleges, but I was really hoping for SMU.

I only applied to SMU

Same. Only applied to SMU (twice now) and definitely going to broaden my search. Considering applying 1 more time to SMU though. And in both waitlist letters it recommend I finish outstanding classes and improve Hesi but I have already improved hesi and completed all my classes so not sure where to go from here with SMU.

Mine says the same thing but I had no in progress courses upon application so I think they send the same thing to everyone. Better to call and ask a counselor what you specifically need to do.

I applied last cycle and got waitlisted #26 for sac. This time around, I have no classes in progress. I had patho and pharm in progress last time. And I have since started working for Kaiser. So definitely a stronger application this time. :(

Same with me! I was waitlisted #14 last time and still had patho/pharm in progress. Got As in both with this cohort, think I really improved my statements, and overall had a better application. Trying to hold onto hope also...hoping that not having heard back yet means we are going to be accepted and not just straight rejected!!! :(

For reapplying, do LORs get transferred to the new application or do we need to send requests again? I got waitlisted for Sac #48

I haven't heard anything either..

I am wondering the same thing!

We have to send requests again. Kind of a hassle.

You need to send requests again :/ at least that is how it was with the last cycle

I applied to UCD ELMSN as a total reach but that is the only program other than SMU

Wow. Hi everyone! What a great forum. I was accepted to the San Mateo ABSN program, and I hope I get to meet many of you soon! Good luck to those on the waitlist!!! For those that were accepted into the ABSN program, how did you guys pay your $350 tuition deposit? There are not any clear instructions, and I REALLY don't want to mess anything up. For obvious reasons. Thanks for the help!
