Samuel Merritt ABSN Spring 2018

Published

Hey guys! I'm new to this forum but has anyone applied for Spring 2018 Cohort yet? I'm not sure if the applications are open yet but that is the cohort that I want to apply to. I will have my BA in Sociology in December 2017 and I am still doing my prerequisites. If you've already applied or are a current student, let me know if you think I'll have a chance at getting in.

Degree: BA in Sociology

Last 60 unit GPA: 3.4 (hoping to raise it to 3.6 by end of year)

Science GPA: 3.5 (still need to do Microbiology & Physiology)

Non-Science: 3.1 (Completed all)

CNA License: Yes

Paid Job Experience: Yes for 1.5 years

*Haven't taken HESi exam yet, but I will this month

Please help, what were your GPA's when you got in and when did you find out you were accepted? Also, if you were ever on the waitlist, when did you finally get accepted?

I'm officially going crazy! I check my email every 10 minutes! I can hardly concentrate until I hear back D:

I just e-mailed Kirsten asking about San Mateo AND Sac and she said late Oct/beginning Nov - we should all know at the same time regardless of which campus location.

Ahh ok! Thanks for the update, it'll af least calm me down for a little while longer!

Hey guys! So I just wanted to update those who are freaking out like I was - I did not get into this cohort :( I'm going to be applying for the next one, but just to let you know it looks like decisions are starting to roll out even though Kirsten said to wait until late October.

I didn't get in either :( I got a 93% on the HESI too.... It's so difficult not knowing what they want...Good luck to everyone still in the process!

I'm sorry, Olive. I got a 92% so I know exactly how you feel. :( Will you be applying to the next cohort?

I e-mailed Kirsten for feedback as I'm unsure about how to make my application stronger. I spent the last year doing grade repair (the whole 18 vs 26 maturity issue) and I'm doing way better but I feel as if my history has been such a detriment to my application and it's so discouraging. :(

You and I are in the same boat. This is my second time applying...last time I got waitlisted...so I'm feeling really discouraged right now. Not sure what's next for me, just really wishing they'd have interviews!

I applied for the San Mateo cohort and I got waitlisted #3.0....

I got waitlisted #3. Do any of you know how much th waitlist moves? I'm sad :(

Is there a decimal on your waitlist because I'm waitlisted 3.0...

Yeah, I got 3.0 too? Did you apply for the Sacramento cohort?

Oh nice, congrats! I applied for San Mateo.
