Hello everyone! I didn't see a thread started for the SMU ABSN program Fall 2014 yet. I'm turning in my application tomorrow and I'm getting really nervous. Just wanted to see who else is applying and what were everyone's stats.
Stats:
Science GPA: 3.6
Last 60 GPA: 3.2
TEAS V Overall: 73.5%
Good luck to everyone!
Hello! I got an acceptance call this afternoon also. Yey! However I am now a bit worried re the pharma and patho classes as I am hoping to do them this summer but they need my physio final grade (which will be completed in a few weeks) so still need many things to go right to actually be accepted I think! For those who want to know re teas: TEAS 83%. Another friend had the same TEAS score and did not get in...
For any who care to know, I had TEAS 94% and got accepted today. There are so many facets that they look at that I think it's virtually impossible to predict. I am a 4.0, but I had heard of other 4.0 candidates from previous cohorts who were rejected or waitlisted. I did hear that I had outstanding letters of recommendation, so that likely helped. And I have some real life experience with health issues in family members, but nothing professional. I think the bottom line is that they look at the candidate overall and try to determine that person's ability to succeed in an accelerated environment.
Congrats CurlyNurse76! You will be fine as long a you finish up those classes before August 31. Many people (me included) still needed pharm and patho at the time of application. Where are you planning to take these classes? I got in for the summer at Santa Barbara CC, and there were lots of open seats when I registered. The only caveat is, as you mentioned, you will need your physio official grade (transcript) in order to register at Santa Barbara as it is a pre-req. So hopefully you can speed it down there, or whichever school you are choosing, and still get in. Good luck pulling it all together. I hope it works out for you!

Phone call with conditional acceptance on completing pharmacology and pathophysiology by end of summer.
I may or may not accept. I've got some serious thinking to do.
Good luck everyone!
