I figured it was about time for a thread for this cohort, especially as we're getting close to hear back for the Nov. 2011 SF cohort. Did anyone else apply this cycle?
Hi All,
I also got my wait list letter via email today, I'm #6 and wondering what the likelihood of getting in is...I'm slightly optimistic - with a combination of accepted and a few wait-listed applicants with other plans, it's possible for me to get in, I guess. I also emailed EB to find out how it "typically" shakes out for waitlisted people. While I know it's probably virtually impossible to predict how many people will actually accept their admittance, it doesn't hurt to ask :-)
I'm pretty far down the list too, and I am also curious what my chances would be. And how long we have to wait until we find out if we're actually in. I remember a conversation with an admissions counselor of a different program at SMU, and they said someone on the waitlist got a call the day before the first day of class!
I hate to give anyone false hope but I have read on here and talked to former students of the school that many people from waitlist end up being offered a spot. Lots of people apply to many schools and I have heard of people rejecting the spot because they found a cheaper program, program closer to their home, earlier start date etc. There was already one person on this forum that was offered a spot and she was thinking about waiting until the following semester. So who knows? IF you search this site for other semesters you can get an idea of how the waitlist went. Obviously every semester is different but just to get an idea.
I got the same exact response from EB. I am far down the list. Hopefully we can transfer applications to next cohort and not reapply.
Hi Vickan,
You don't have to re-submit everything. Just another application and unofficial transcripts. As for letters of ref. you just need to include a note asking them to look in your file.
Hi everyone! I must be late on the game because I just stumbled upon this thread, but just wanted to let everyone know that I was accepted! I'm still pinching myself.. congrats to everyone who got in, and good luck to everyone else. I'm living in the East Bay, so will probably be having to commute to SF for at least a while. Can't wait to meet you all!
