Hello all, 

The SMU link above says on the website to only log in there if you have already been accepted. Is this available to previous applicants or is there somewhere else to be monitoring our status?

has anyone actually received the official email yet? It seems weird that they would be updating the portal so slowly. I cant image what it's like to be an admissions counselor but man this is rough. hang in there everyone!

It sounds like only the Sacramento applications have been updated on the portal, but no one (including sac) has received official word yet. I applied to sac but can't access the portal, so have no idea of my status yet ?

It’s so weird they haven’t sent emails yet! I swore they were gonna send them this morning like in previous years who got updates in the portals, they received emails the next day. And @Cassie F. you’re not the only one who can’t access it, others on the thread having that issue too. I don’t understand why, they just need to send the emails and make it easier on everybody.

I applied to Sacramento and I haven't received anything in the portal other than "your application is being reviewed." I'm just so curious why certain people are being updated in the portal but haven't received the official email yet.

Maybe the official emails will be sent out starting next week.  Maybe the portal gets updated automatically as applicants are selected, but they wait until everything is complete before sending out the emails? 

The wait is so agonizing!  I would like to know if I got in or not so I can plan my next move instead of being stuck in this limbo! 

They said they should reach a decision by end of June/beginning of July.  I am going to tell myself I won't hear back until July 2nd & stop checking/refreshing my email and portal every hour so I won't be so anxious all the time!

Yea I was thinking that after we received that email that we probably wouldn't hear until early July. It would really be great to find out ASAP, I'm stressing over how much I need to do this weekend to finish my July 1st application.

Hey everyone, Just sending out some good vibes, the anxiety is awful! I'm also tired of being in limbo. It's very difficult to prepare next steps when the decisions are delayed - I'm trying not to let this decision prevent me from making Summer/work plans but it feels like a bit of a gamble without knowing about school. I expect that we will probably get an admissions decision on a Friday based on what friends in grad school have told me. Makes sense that won't be until 7/2 like Chau.P said.

The fact that there was no apology or offer to refund students if they get into this cohort but applied for July 1st as well is really disheartening. I understand the pandemic affected the admissions team too but it doesn't give me the most confidence in Samuel Merritt as an institution. As other people in this thread have said, expecting pre-nursing students to spend more time and money to apply unnecessarily (and without feedback on how to improve) shows a lack of compassion on their part. I am not planning to apply for the July 1st deadline. If I don't get in this time I'm going to try and work on my essays and reapply for the next Oakland cohort. I think I have a strong application but my essays were rushed and those are supposed to be a big part of the decision making. Good luck to everyone, and thanks to everyone who has shared info!

Hi everyone, I just checked my portal and it says I got in to the Sacramento campus. I'm kind of in shock, I don't know if I'll believe it until I get an email. I'm so sorry to those who have been waiting so long, I know the wait is excruciating. I really hope you reapply. Good luck to everyone!!
