I was accepted into the program, and looking around for other students who will also be in the program. I have heard awesome things about Samford, and can not wait til August to start meeting fellow students and faculty. Orientation is coming up soon, hoping to chat with a few people before and see if they know the area better. I am probably flying out, renting a car, and also a hotel room. Any info would be fantastic, or just introduce yourself.
I was thinking the same that it would be nice if others were there too. I am hoping we get some more information soon as to what we are going to be doing those days. The closer it gets the more nervous I get, wondering what type of clothes we need, other supplies, etc...I know she said in an email to bring a stethoscope and laptop but I wonder if we need all of our books too. Guess we will fond out soon, I did get my financial aid information today so at least we are making progress.
Hi,
I am currently in the FNP program at samford university. I have completed the Advance patho course and I am currently taking advanced pharm and health promotions. I will be attending the orientation for Advanced Health Assessment in August as well. I am looking forward to meeting you all.
Just thought I would let everyone know that I emailed someone at Samford today to check on dress code and was told it is business casual. She also told me that there is no need to bring our text books with us...which makes me happy to not have to lug them around! I am headed over to the bookstore website to buy my books now, see you all soon!
Would anyone mind sharing their stats? I will be finishing an Accelerated BSN next August and plan to apply for admission in Fall 2014 (so immediately after completing BSN). I won't have any experience other than working as a tech through nursing school, but plan to work as an RN during the program. The website says they accept new grads. I have a 3.6 now and hope to have a similar admission GPA. Any advice on applying or in general would be greatly appreciated!

I decided to stay at the Courtyard too due to the discount through school. Plus, will be nice to stay around other students going to orientation as well.
