Hello! I am applying for the FNP program at Samford University for the Fall of 2015. I am really excited and really hope that I get accepted. Is there anybody else on here that has applied yet or is planning to apply?
Raigansmommy09, Total bill for 1st semester of FNP was around $8742 dollars.
if you have proof of health insurance you will save $732 on school insurance premium.
According to my bill the actual Graduate Nursing tuition was only $7065. and the rest are misc fees.
Once you start the semester you will have this out of pocket expenses:
Lab coat - around 52 something
Background check - 42 dollars
Use of proctor online testing software - $200 dollars
Lexi-comp on hand software (mandatory)- 142 dollars
Bates' Visual guide to physical assessment (mandatory) $135
additional expenses for 1st semester of FNP are plane tickets, food and hotel for orientation week
and then again in the middle of semester for check offs
Happy I am doing this. I don't know how it compares to other school.
Hello everyone I am interested in applying for the Fall 2016 cohort and was wanting some insight on GPA, nursing experience, and the overall application process. What was your credentials for getting in? How is the program going? Is it everything that you expected it to be? Pros and Cons? Thank you so much!
I can tell you about my application process. My undergrad GPA was 3.64. 3 yrs of nursing experience. You set up an account and submit everything through NursingCAS. Once the school gets your info they will send you a link to submit your video interview. It was about a month and a half before I got the acceptance email. I start in january, so I don't know much about the actual cirriculum yet, but everything has been smooth so far.
The program is great. It's completely doable but I wouldn't say easy. Test and quizzes are either proctored or open book. Had to go to campus twice during first semester 2-3 days each time and will be going at the end of the last semester. I love this program though the toughest thing is finding preceptors. I've been lucky but I know others have had a hard time.

Could you clue me in on what your total cost for first semester was? And if Fasfa was able to cover any of it? I was accepted for January '16 and am trying to get an idea, as all everyone is telling me is that Samford is super expensive. What can I expect for out-of-pocket cost? Thanks for any insight.
