  1. Hi Gollehon2016. Have you joined the Facebook group for the May2016 Cohort. That is a must. How was orientation? I have not done that part yet. Charr_12, congratulations! There is also a fb page for May2016 with the bridge which means your FNP start date is in Sept I think.
  2. Alisha & Blessed Nurs, I called Friday April 8 and the information I recieved was they will begin reviewing in 2 weeks.
  3. Desertsky These are my EXACT concern. I actually like the idea of live classes and being able to ask questions and hear questions asked... However it limits your flexibility. Yet still, the cost of the program is something I can't seem to wrap my mind around. I ask the question: Do I really want 60K worth of debt? That question is usually followed by Do I want to stress out about trying to find a clinical preceptor? Simmons does all that for you. I don't know what I will do. Ultimately my education is of utmost importance. I don't want to shell out 60K, but if I havd to I will.
  4. I have applied to Samford and I am already accepted into another FNP program. Still waiting to hear back from Samford. I always look at different FNP program's curriculum... I noticed Samford's program requires students to take Advanced Health Assessment, Advanced Pathophysiology and Physiology AND Advanced Pharmacology all together and in the first semester as it seems most schools separate those classes. Hopefully previous students can shed some light on how it is possible to cover a wealth of info in just one semester. Did it seem like a weed-out semester? Were study groups your saving grace? What kind of support did you recieve from the instructors? When you start grad school, you want tomake sure you are making a good investment so any insight previous students can provide would be greatly appreciated!
  5. That makes a world of difference. I'm trying to decide if that ( clinical placement) is worth the extra $30,000 in tuition. Also found the below article. I am torn between Simmons and my Alma Mater which has a very good program as well, but is half the cost. U.S. News & World Report Ranks Nursing@Simmons Among Nation's Best Online Graduate Nursing Programs
  6. Do you guys know if they do clinical placements for their students?
  7. I'm just now seeing your comment lenadee. Thank you so much for you response!!
  8. I'm going to start using that when I talk to my patients..
  9. Thank You! Nursing@Simmons is what I'm referring to.
  10. Hello everyone! I am hoping to start the Samford FNP track this fall. I just wanted to receive feedback on the program. Any tips or advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated. I apologize for the errors in the previous post. Look forward to hearing from you soon!
  11. Hello my fellow nurses!, ROLL CALL: Has anyone applied or considered applying to Simmons for a May start date? If so, where are you from?! I have applied and I haven't heard anything yet. I would love to hear from you!
  12. Hello everyone! I am hoping to start at Samford FNP track this fall, which means I'll be a grafuating class behind you. How are you guys liking the program thus far and is thete any advice you could offer?
  13. Also, can any of the students offer input for how you secured your preceptor? Dis Samford provide a list, or did you do your own networking?
