Same CES to use for endorsement?

Published

hi i passed the vermont nclex exam and i would like to use my license to get to chicago, illinois by endorsement. Is it possible? also, i have read that in order to get the chicago license even through endorsement i need to pass CES requirment. Can i use the same CES that i've already applied for in vermont or do i have to re-apply or apply for re-evaluation for CES for illinois? Also can i start processing my endorsement applications online even though im still here in the Philippines? If i can start applying, can anyone please help me how i can apply online my endorsement to chicago, illinois? IF possible the step by step instructions would greatly be appreciated.thank you! :)

P.S. can anyone tell me the email address for chicago, illinois board of nursing..thanks a lot!:)

Have you read the handbook on the CGFNS website? Looking at the website you should be able to use the same CES report but have to pay a small fee of $50

You just have to pay $60 for the additional CES report recipient which is IDFPR (Illinois licensing). Verify on how to accomplished this by calling CGFNS.

Regarding ILLINOIS licensing, I think there is no online application for endorsement only for those new applicant. You can download the application forms at IDFPR website. You also need to submit fingerprint, so as early as now you can request fingerprint card.

If you want to work in Illinois why did you use Vermont to obtain your license?

hey nursecubanitarn2b, i took the Vermont license because I'm still here in the Philippines and i don't know when US will be open to foreign nurses. With Vermont i could easily renew my license even though I'm not in the US. if i took the Illinois exam i won't be able to renew it for it requires SS no. upon renewal and that wouldn't be possible if I'm still stuck here in the Philippines :) i was just being on the safe side just in case the US won't be open for the next 3 years at least i could easily renew my Vermont license :) hopefully it won't take that long, if it doesn't then i could work in Vermont for a time being then move to Illinois :)

Daigorot, thank you for your help :)

Even though Vermont issued you a license you still wont be able to work with out a ss#. Either way you need to keep yourself updated because it seems that most states are leaning to having a ss# prior to licensing. Also the ones that don't require a ss# have started requiring a number before renewal. Good Luck :-)

thank you for that..i'll keep myself posted on that. I'm constantly visiting the Vermont BON website for any updates. Hopefully, i be able to get to US before they require SS # for renewal.LOL.thanks for your help :)
