Sam Houston State University Fall 2021

Updated:   Published

Hi, I have created this thread for everyone who is applying to Sam Houston State University Fall 2021. I currently take my TEAS exam a month from now. So far my GPA is still improving the goal is a 3.5 overall. I hope my test scores come out to above a B on all sections.

Hey yall I'm also applying to SH I recently took my TEAS and didn't do so well so I am going to wait 30 days and take it again, hoping for better scores this time. do yall have an idea of how competitive it is to get in. I am a transfer student with not a competitive GPA, my GPA is right on the edge of the minimum requirement. so I'm kinda stressed out.

hi I am in the same boat as you. I’m a transfer student and my GPA isn’t really top notch but it’s above the minimum a bit. I had an appointment with an advisor from the nursing program yesterday afternoon and just make sure you do really good on the TEAS so that can override on your GPA. but for the competitive part I know on the website it says a fraction of how many applicants usually apply and how many get it.

I went to a informational session and I don’t remember exactly but they only look at reading and math and they said high 80s to 90s is competitive.

I think it was just the minimum they require. They don’t even factor in Science or English for some reason.

OK great, that took a lot of weight off my shoulder for the science section.

Hello everyone I am also applying to SHSU for their fall 2021 BSN program! I am still trying to figure out if I should re take my TEAS I got an 82 for an over all score but im not sure if its a competitive score since they only focus on the math and reading sections which are my strongest but IDK if I should try and get an even higher score in those sections. I did email the pre nursing department last week but they haven't reached out to me yet so might have to schedule an advising appt.
