Ok, Ive made the move to get traveling, but still have questions. Other then California, what is the typical ICU RN take home pay a week with some of your companys?

I was just told about a possible job in New London CT, any thoughts?

Specializes in They know this too!.

Sounds kind of fishy to me. No I don't make more money an hour than I did doing Agency, but they are paying for my housing. I am bill free pretty much, so I get to save what I would be spending on rent. I took less (not $16/hour) when I did travel in 2008 and learned my lesson.

On another note, unless the housing they are picking is expensive maybe that is why such the difference? I know if I had them check out a place more expensive it takes away more from my hourly home pay.

Things you need to consider. You are experienced and doing this with little to no orientation. So, you deserve to make more than what you are use to. Otherwise, find another agency, who will get what you want, there are so many.

Specializes in Critical Care.

It was explained as 16hr TAXABLE wage. Other companys have told me they pay a lower taxable wage, then add on stuff to make it higher. I was doing some figuring and it looks to be about 36 and hour. Ive decided that unless my housing is including in the 1200 per week, I'm not accepting the offer. Like one poster said, I have a full time job right now and am not going to take the first offer that comes my way. I may just take some time and get a few licences under my belt, especially California.

The company is Medical Solutions.

Specializes in Postpartum, Antepartum, Psych., SDS, OR.

If you are in a compact state that gives you a license in 24 states. I have 3 in addition to the 24. Look at each states web site for license information and what you need to do. CA takes a while to get your license.
