Sad Boards

Nursing Students SRNA

Updated:   Published

Unfortunately I failed boards. I have been a reck. I had 100 questions and had 99 mins left when the computer stopped. I studied valley sweat book, all the prodigy categories exams and only the advance practice topics from Memory Master for six weeks. I have been studying again. I haven't reschedule anything yet. I am completely embarrass and want jump off the the tallest building in the world. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I would focus again on Valley. I only found Prodigy helpful for a few topics. The Prodigy tests didn't really help me because I felt like you would do well only because you saw the same questions over and over. I only looked at certain things in Memory Master right before boards. I truly believe that you must understand concepts to pass the exam. Understanding the concepts in Valley will help you earn the big points on boards. Not really sure how some people say they pass by just looking at Memory Master. Why would you want to memorize things....wouldn't you rather understand them if this is going to be your life for the next 30+ years? Sorry for your little bump in the road and good luck to you. You will get it next time!

Thank you naptime for responding back. I completely agree with you as far as prodigy. Sweat book is real good. Honestly I really over Memory Master because I am bad at memorizing and very close to stop looking at it. Understanding the concept is so so true. I did start Core concepts which seems real good. Yes, I will definitely stay positive. Second time is the charm they say.

Hi CrnaRose

One common issue is that students often use too many review courses. It's quite easy to become paralyzed by having too much content at your fingertips, and often this means that students don't actually complete any of them.

I can say that every student that's completed all of APEX has gone on to pass the National Certification Exam.

What's most important to me is that you pass on your next attempt. The rate of failure increases as a function of number of attempts as well as the time that elapses since graduation.

If you're previous plan didn't work, it may be time for a fresh one. What you need to do is contact APEX to create a customized plan to increase your odds of passing on your next attempt.

Good luck!

Have you contacted your program? Also look at your subject scores to guide your studies. How close were you to passing? Also sounds like you had some anxiety which may be helped by biofeedback and/or medication if extreme.

Thank you etherscreen for the recommendation. I have emailed you through the apex app already. Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks loveanesthesia for responding. I have been studying the subjects I scored low in for three weeks and currently studying everything again. I did have anxiety but the usual type since I was in anesthesia school. But I am still studying and staying positive.

Hi CrnaRose. I didn't receive an email from you. Feel free to try again, PM me here, or send a message through Facebook.

I'm happy to help you put a plan together. Since you didn't do very much of the course (and because I have very little data on you), you'll need to complete more content. I can look at your answers and compare them to the correct ones, and from there we can begin to formulate a solid plan for you.

Hey CrnaRose. I'm going to be starting school in a few months. Just wanted to say good luck. Don't get down on yourself. Hope the second time is your charm.

I just want to say , I PASSED . Thanks for all the support, words of encouragement and study tips to everyone that commented on this thread.
