Hello everyone!
I'm new to this website and I'm planning on applying for Spring 2016. I know we still have a couple months before the application opens but I'm anxious! I've been looking forward to applying and can't wait to get going. Anyone else applying for next spring?
Thanks!
Ok friends, I have a question about how to fill out the application: I took a number of my pre & co-req's at other colleges. Some transferred directly, some I had to petition. On the application, which course number do I put, the one from the other college? Or what is covers at Sac State? I'd hate for my app to be disqualified because of a clerical error. Thanks!!

Since you are a current Sac State student I'm not sure how that would work. I would assume that you would need to write the course from the college that you took the class and include the original transcripts. They would need to look the course up and make sure that it satisfies the requirements for the nursing program. For example, an online anatomy class may transfer to the university, but the nursing program will not accept it because it did not include an in-person lab component. I believe you can send an email to get clarification on this. They are also having an info session today. If you are able to attend they will be able to tell you exactly what you need to do.
Hi Everyone,
Just an FYI-I just went to the Sac State student portal to check admissions status and my status has been changed to admitted. Obviously that has nothing to do with the nursing program, but fellow transfer students might want to go ahead and check their status with the school.
Hi Zygo! That's great that you will have 89 points! I was feeling pretty good with my 80 but now I'm starting to feel a little unsure. I am considering taking the TEAS to try to get a higher score. I got an 88% the last time but I also rushed out of fear of running out of time. I ended up making simple mistakes that I know I could have avoided. I guess I have a few days to decide. If I decide to just apply with my current score I will probably deliver my application sometime this week.
Anyway, good luck! Hopefully we all make it!
Thank you! I just hope I receive all the points that I think I should get lol. We will find out in November!
I was also shocked at the jump in the point cutoff. However, I went to the information session last month and at that point the cutoff was down to 75 points. I've heard that it has dropped since then, but we won't really know what the final cutoff will be until the fall semester starts. That's great that you have 89 points! I feel like I am just teetering on the bubble with my 80, so I will be anxious until we hear the spring cutoff. I have actually finished all of my pre-req's, but I am taking chemistry again so that I can raise my B to an A. All of my other pre-req's are A's so with that class in-progress I can apply with a 4.0 GPA. I will also be taking pharmacology just to get a head start. I loved physio. I actually wish I would have waited to take that class because I know I will have to brush up on it prior to starting the nursing program. You will have it all fresh in your mind for that first semester!
I feel like with 80 you should be okay! Great to hear that the fall 2015 cutoff wasn't at 79 points. It dropped down to 76 as shown on Sac States nursing admission statistics. So generally over the years it's been increasing by 2 or 3 points. If this continues, you should be okay with your 80!! Have you done anything to increase your points past 80?
Here are the most recent point cutoffs:
Spring 2014 69
Fall 2014 71
Spring 2015 73
Fall 2015 76
Based on this trend, the highest point cutoff for spring 2016 should be 79. There is a slight chance it can go off from this pattern but if does, I can't see it being higher than 80! It's safe to assume if you're at or above 80, you should be go to go! :)

Hey Krich72,
All transcripts have to be official regardless of what they are for (college, GED, etc..)
