Sacramento State (CSUS) Spring 2014 applications

U.S.A. California

So it looks as though we don't have a thread going as of yet for the Sac State Spring 2014 Nursing application period, so lets get one going.

My name is Sarah and I am a current Sac State student. This is my first semester at sac state as I just transferred over from Sierra College in Rocklin. I am currently in Micro, but all other pre and co reqs done. Looking at 87 points if I don't get the 3 additional for optional criteria that I submitted for. I just submitted my application today, so now the wait begins.

I'm in section 5 at Sutter General.

I am also in section 5 tsklaner! I cannot wait to start! Is everyone ordering only one of each for the medical equipment we need to buy?

I plan to buy 2 sets of scrubs based on recommendation from other nursing students I've talked to.

Anyone planning on joining CNSA? The discounts don't look that good, but the stuff theyre involved in is pretty interesting according to the pdfs.

Specializes in Neonatal, NICU level IV.

Just my 2 cents...

I would recommend CNSA. They have a lot of volunteer events and if you serve on the board it looks good on your resume. It is also a good place to meet other people from different semesters and network with some of the professors.

AND - you get free pizza at the meetings!:cheeky:

thanks oldswag the pizza comment sealed the deal for me :sarcastic:

Hi upcoming nursing students! I just graduated from the ASBSN program at Sac State in June. Many of us in my class have gently used scrubs (all sizes pretty much), lab coats, books, clipboards, etc up for sale. These are the same scrubs and supplies used by the traditional track. If anyone is interested in getting cheap scrubs, lab coats, name badge holders, clipboards or anything like that, just message me. You can also email me at [email protected]. Congrats on getting into nursing school!!!

Hi Everyone, I'm new to this form but I would like to congratulate everyone who got into Sac states BSN program. I also will be there in the Spring and was just wondering how everything is coming along with all the pre entry checklist and everything else. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed with all of it and was just wondering if anyone was feeling the same way.

Hey Bwendeez,

It is super overwhelming and some of it is even confusing. Don't let it stress you out too much though; it is manageable. If you have questions, the office at the school of nursing is usually very helpful.

Also, I graduated in May from the program and I still do advising so I may be able to help with some questions you may have.

Congrats and good luck!!!:cheeky:

Thanks VintageSwagger,

Congrats on graduating :) it must of been one journey but you made it!!!!!! Any advise/pointers you are willing to give would be awesome.

I'm trying to work through all my immunizations before the deadline. I'm a little worried about the Varicella one because my parents nor I remember if I've ever had the chicken pox and I just did lab work for it so hopefully they get back to me soon since I'm not quite sure how the vaccination will go since there's 2 of them.

I'm trying to figure out which stethoscope to buy, do you have a recommendation on one, the master or the classic?

And I was assigned to the VA hospital so there's a little more paperwork to get through which is kind of confusing but I'm trying to get through it.

Just saw that I've been registered for classes!!!

Hello All! This is a random question, but how bad is it to get a B+? Especially in COMS... My professor accidentally miscalculated my grade and I couldn't have her change it without proof. I accidentally threw my papers away, so now I'm stuck with a B+. Everyone has been telling me to change my major because I literally don't have a chance of getting in. Anyone have any ideas on what I should do?! What were your GPAs?
