Sac State Nursing for Spring 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Is anyone here applying in October for Spring 2018 nursing program at Sac State? I know this is the last semester to apply for the older criteria and CSUS will be changing the selection criteria for Fall 2018. What's your gpa? Teas score? points? I haven't taken the teas yet and I'm super nervous.

Definitely a large checklist - you're not alone. One at a time and it's a lot easier for me to manage

Thanks! It's good to know i'm not alone.

Have you gotten your clinical assignment yet? I think they're supposed to be sent out soon but i haven't gotten mine.

Nah, I haven't. I'm sure we'll get something this week. Crossing my fingers to get what I want :)

I got UC Davis Medical Center! Section 6, any one else?

Cinco

Trois

Yes, one or more of each size in each clothing type. Very nice resource.

Are you guys ordering electronic books only or the hard copies and electronic?

I got UCDMC section 5. Very excited about that. Anyone going to onboarding this Wednesday?

If anyone isnt on the facebook, come on down!

Congratulation to those who got in for Spring 2018! UC Davis is my favorite hospital to be at and many students would say the same. As a graduate from Spring 17, your journey will be intense but rewarding. As others mentioned, be familiar with the abbreviation list, math & conversion and common medications with their side effects.

From experience, the first year is the most demanding and many students do not work for this reason.

3rd semester would be the semester where you would take any extra classes for graduation or find a part-time job.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

What equipment do you recommend buying? And what brand, if any?

I would suggest to get 3M Littmann Classic III Stethoscope and many students really like the brand. In other words, stick with Littman. In addition, buy a ID tag to write down your name.

I would also suggest to buy 2 set of uniforms and a second pair of shoe. I always carry an extra uniform and a pair of shoe in my trunk in case something terrible happens during clinical. It would become during the next 2 year of nursing school.

Lastly, many students love to have a Whitecoat Clipboard: it is solid and can be folded. It is convenient to carry your note in it, fold it and you could put in your pocket. It is a great support to write down note as you will be on the go.

Good luck!
