  1. Hi I'm currently in the CSUS nursing program. How many prereqs do you have left? And do you qualify for optional criteria?
  2. Current CSUS nursing student, here! If i were you i'd take more mellow classes your first semester. Give yourself a chance to get the hang of things before you go for the sciences! Remember, you have to get A's! I would start with GE courses and maybe a critical thinking prereq along with english.
  3. The whole process of getting started is going to be VERY overwhelming. Staff, faculty and upper cohorts are extremely helpful and generous. Take it one day at a time, and good luck!
  4. It might be in the email detailing the prep for beginning the program
  5. Congrats, everyone!
  6. We received our admission decisions just after 5 pm.
  7. The wait is agonizing! Best of luck to you all :)
  8. Hey guys! I know the preliminary cutoff can be discouraging, but don't lose hope! Many things can happen between now and August when school starts. The preliminary cutoff for spring 2018 was 86 and it dropped down to 84. There is much more time over the summer for adjustments to happen. Not saying anything is a guarantee, but hang in there! :)
  9. "Spray laying"? I'm not familiar with this phrase
  10. What classes are you guys taking this semester?
  11. I have not. I think usually the people that are involved in the advising sessions have more information. The SON is still working on getting everything done. My best guess for an update would be Friday after 4-5 at the earliest.
  12. If i'm not mistaken, Rm 1051 at 4:00. If I hear anything differently, i will let you know. Even if you don't have a ton of questions, its cool to get to know the students and what nursing school is like. The people at the meetings are really nice and helpful, from what i've heard. Sometimes they have tips for those wishing to enter the program; either way it's a good experience and it's nice to get involved.
  13. Don't miss the chance to register for classes! If you get in, they will be dropped and replaced with nursing classes. Of course, fingers crossed everyone gets an answer before registration. :)
  14. If you guys would like to come to a group advising session with nursing students in the program (it's kind of like a Q and A), there is one being held on April 13th at Folsom Hall. Even if you don't have specific questions, you can always just talk about the program with students and then stay for a CNSA meeting afterwards! Everyone is welcome :)
  15. I commute about 30 minutes back and forth depending on traffic. Personally I'd say that an hour is too far. Sometimes we have 10-12 hour days on campus and if you're far from Folsom hall or clinical sites, it'll be hard. Sometimes long days are back to back; on top of it you have to study and stay on top of homework. If you have the opportunity to move closer, I would.
