As an alternate, I will be desperately checking and refreshing the nursing homepage to see if the "Spring 2018 Last Alternate Selected To Date" has any updates!!

Best of luck!

Did you apply anywhere else?

Thank you for the warm wishes!! And see that's the thing..people were telling me to apply to the CC's, like ARC, but I decided not to since I was so positive that with my 82 points at Sac State, i would get in right away...never even had a doubt that I would run into problems, since the statistics say that the point cut off never even reached 80, let alone 82. If I had 77 total points, yeah I would definitely apply to as many programs as I could, since that number is usually on the borderline... I guess you can't rely on common sense and looking at the statistics for our application semester.

Before I retook the TEAS I had 81 and thought ehhhh I'll be okay. Huge curveball and I feel for those who got surprised by the high cutoff. Did they let you know which alternate you are? Dec. 4 today is a deadline for those forms so maybe some people get dropped?

Hey guys, I finally got around to creating a Facebook group for us. It is called "Sacramento State Nursing Spring 2018 Cohort". Just search for it and I can add anyone who is interested. I haven't made it all pretty yet with pictures or anything, but I can figure we can all gather and talk about the upcoming semester.

I am still planning on going to Sacramento to look at housing, but I haven't had time since I am finishing my Fall semester. Hopefully we can all find arrangements that are affordable.

I've been wondering the same thing. I decided to wait for the email with the checklist before I buy anything in case there's any specifics with brand, color, etc.

That's what I thought too.

When they release the list I'll ask my friend in the program again which brand she recommended. She told me but I forgot.

So did you ever apply with 81 points? Or did you retake your teas and get a better score before October 2? And yes - from the Nov 27th email, it said I was 36 on the waitlist.

I've never taken a BLS class before and I am registered to take it next Monday. Idk why I am nervous for it lol but I don't really know what to expect. Has anyone here taken it already and can give me some tips so that I somewhat know what to expect? And do you need to study beforehand, since there's a test?

It's super easy. You will basically just go over how to do CPR on adults and infants, and how to do abdominal thrusts for choking victims. Nothing to worry about and no need to pre-study.

I get the apprehension but don't be nervous! I took a few notes during my class. I knew there would be a test and I knew that I would be responsible for this information later so it made me feel better to take notes. Yes, some people thought it was excessive but jotting down some main points can't hurt. I didn't study beforehand though.

With that being said, it's straightforward and my experiences with the instructors has always been great.
