Sac State Fall 2013 Applicants

Published

Hello Everyone,

I am about to send in my application to CSU Sacramento for Fall 13 and was wondering if there are any other people in the same predicament. Would love love to hear your experiences as well.

YAY!!!! I am in as well! Congratulations everyone!!!!!

I am excited to see if any of us will be in clinicals together as well, but that is a ways away, and for now we all get to celebrate!

Hi there! Congrats to everyone who got in!! I'm currently a pre-nursing student, I just want to know if you guys don't mind sharing what gpa/and teas scores you guys got to get in?

My gpa was a 4.0, I got an 86.7 on my teas, and qualified for 9 of the optional criterion points. My total was 83 points.

Hi, ItSuzi! My GPA was a 4.0, and I got a 92% on the TEAS. I didn't apply for any of the optional criteria, so my point total was 85.

If you haven't seen it already, the selection criteria pdf is helpful to see what kind of scores an applicant will need. Click on the "Clinical Nursing Selection Criteria" and "Applicant Pool Statistics".

I'n in too! Congrats all!

Whoa, I'm really starting to regret applying to so many schools. I'm grateful that I got into 5 programs, but now I have to choose, and I still haven't heard from CSUEB. It's a good problem to have, but sheesh!

I save another post about attending the Pre-Nursing Panel tomorrow, and YES! Absolutely go. I am in the same class as the person who coordinates them and it's a great resource if you're in the area and need help making the decision on whether or not to choose Sac, or if you just want to know more before you start. There's 1 or 2 people from each semester who you can talk to and ask questions.

And stay for the CNSA meeting in the same room after! You get to learn a whole lot more about nursing school, meet people, and get free pizza. Room 1050 at our building, 4PM!

I think I will be attending. Will anyone else?

My teas score was 88.7% and my gpa was a 4.0. I got 3 optional points because I'm a CNA so my total was 81. Good luck on your prenursing classes!

Nurseinthemaking20: I wish I could go to that meeting! Will you let us know how it went and if they give you any good info?

Of course! I will fill u guys in on everything.

I have a 4.0, 87.3 on the teas, and 6 points optional criteria for a total of 81 points.

Nurseinthemaking20: I can't make it tomorrow, my kids have baseball! Thank you for attending! Can't wait to hear how it goes! :-)

Best of luck to those of you not (yet) in the program. I hope you get in (if you're waitlisted) or get into another great school.

I've certainly gotten my share of rejections too, so hang in there.

Thanks, VintageSwagger, for your offer to help. I'm sure we'll all have questions! Right now I'm wondering about housing advice. I'll be moving up from Santa Cruz. Any areas to avoid? Any that are great? I'll be living off campus with my husband (and cat). I'd love to be able to bike in, if possible. Does the supply of rentals get low in Aug? If we shoot for Aug. 1, for example.

Also, are there opportunities (either in the program or immediately afterward) for one-on-one preceptorships?

I look forward to getting to know you all!
