Was interested to know if anyone is applying for the spring 2017 absn program at Rutgers? I am currently working on the application. Does anyone know if it is worth it to apply if I still have two more classes k would need to take? One being life span psychology and the other being general chemistry 2?
I unfortunately got declined to both campuses - really bummed about it. i have a 4.0 in my pre-reqs and a 3.2 in undergrad - not sure what I was lacking and I am assuming if you get declined, there is no chance even if more spots open up. I received two letters - bes tof luck to everyone. Really praying I have better luck getting into the remaining three schools I am applying to.

Did you get decline via e-mail or letter? I'm really sorry you got declined! I hope you get into one of the other schools you applied to! Best of luck!
I was conditionally accepted to both New Brunswick and Newark on Nov 2nd (via email)-- "conditionally" because I'm taking Nutrition this semester. For those that were wondering about my stats/background (something I was also curious about when I was applying)--
Cumulative GPA: 3.66 (B.S. in Psychology, Honors Scholar from Univ. of Connecticut though I'm a NJ resident)
Pre-reqs: all A's except for B in Biochem and currently enrolled in Nutrition
Experience: Was pre-med in undergrad, went to medical school for about 3 semesters and realized it was not the path I wanted to take. Hundreds of hospital volunteer hours, worked as an ER Medical Scribe for about 6 months, recently trained and obtained certification as a Nursing Assistant, currently working as a Direct Support Counselor in a group home for adults with developmental disabilities, and will be starting work as a Nursing Assistant in a hospital per diem next month.
Wishing everyone all the best!
Hi! I'm in the process of deciding as well. From what I know, the Newark campus is where the main offices are and where our simulation labs will be held. However, I am leaning towards New Brunswick since I live much closer to it. When I spoke to some of the professors at an info. session in Newark recently, they said pick the campus that is closest/most convenient for you to get to. And in terms of clinicals, no matter which campus you pick, clinical sites are the same, curriculum is the same, and profesors are the same (they teach as both campuses from what I understand). So here are major factors to consider based on what I've been told and what I've read on other threads:
1) Convenience in location from your home or where you plan to live
2) Whether you prefer a large city (Newark) or a smaller city (New Brunswick)
3) Whether you prefer more of a "campus life" (New Brunswick)
4) Class size (Newark class size is smaller)
5) Location of nursing faculty, staff offices, and adult simulation labs (Newark)
I also found this through an online search compared the campuses in general (not specific to nursing)--
