Rutgers spring 2017 absn

Published

Was interested to know if anyone is applying for the spring 2017 absn program at Rutgers? I am currently working on the application. Does anyone know if it is worth it to apply if I still have two more classes k would need to take? One being life span psychology and the other being general chemistry 2?

@Ivanca Not yet - I read on previous forums that they do not do rolling admissions, so they would not start reviewing the applications until after the deadline tomorrow. I'm not sure if that's true, but I read that in multiple places. Rutgers quotes 6-8 weeks for a decision from the deadline

Thank you @Kerri_lynn let's keep our fingers cross

Hi everyone! I just discovered this thread...I also applied to the spring ABSN program. I hate that this next month will just be waiting, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Hopefully we hear back in November (:

Specializes in PICU.

I also applied for Spring 2017 to New Brunswick! Hoping for an acceptance letter come next month

Hi All! I applied to both campuses as well along with Drexel, Thomas Jefferson and am currently in the process of apply to NJCU for Spring 2017 as well. I just got an email yesterday my GPA was calculated and all my transcripts have been verified. Hopefully we hear back by early November! Good luck to everybody!

I applied to both the New Brunswick and Newark campus as well. I called the other day and they said the committee was meeting this week and we should be hearing responses within the next two weeks. Good luck to everyone!

@megyuppa thanks for the update!! they're sending responses more quickly than I had imagined - I'm so nervous/excited! Best of luck!

@megyuppa did they say how many applications they received? I'm curious if they extended the date due to low application numbers or if it was due to something else

My friend asked one of the recruiters at the info session today when we will be hearing the results and she said that it would be around mid-November. I hope we can hear the updates soon!

@thomasemma Thank you for the update

I spoke with the admissions and i was told that we will hear the admission decisions next week. I also heard from my friend that they had about 300+ applications for both campuses this year. I guess it is better for us since the most of the applicants applied to both campuses which i assume that the actual # of applicants will be around 200-250? for 92 seats (30 for NB and 62 for Newark). As far as i know, they usually have more applicants in the fall. They had about 600+ applications for the fall 2016 cohort. I think that we have a better chance this time as the admission requirements got a little harder for the spring 2017 cohort so less people applied. Also whoever gets accepted to both campuses must choose one location only which opens a new spot for a person who is waitlisted. Let's hope for the best!

thank you! I tried calling today but only got through to the voicemail. I can't wait to hear back - good luck to everyone!
