Russian speaking nurses

Published

Hi everyone,

I am wondering if there are Russian speaking nurses on this website? I am one of them and I just got my RN license. I will appreciate if you could share your experience with me. Any advice I could use in my career as a nurse?

God bless!

Hi,Katie,

Where do you work? I am a foreign trained nurse from Ukraine. I met requirements for licensure in 2010 and passed NCLEX-RN in June 2011 the first time I took it. Now I am looking for a job in long-term care facilities. Did you go to nursing school here or in Russia? I have been working as a CNA in a local hospital for 5 years and learn a lot over there just by being a detail oriented person and asking many questions regarding nursing. I used different learning opportunities there as well. Are you currently working as a RN? Did you face any difficulties during your career and if yes how did you overcome them?

Nice meeting to you, Katie!

Hope to hear from you soon!

Hello Alex! I just called you; you didn't answer. I guess you have been working as a doctor in Russia. My situation is not the same as yours. I didn't have any medical background. After moving to USA I desided to study nursing; so, I graduated as an RN from accredited american college. To my best knowlege, in my community college is not possible to take the only courses you need. You have to transfer or apply for program. Good luck!

My daugther is UCLA student. There is an excellent medical school there.
