Rush University GEM Fall 2018

Hey! I just submitted my application for the fall 2018 GEM program at Rush, and I thought I'd start a new thread where applicants can compare stats, share thoughts, and/or ask questions.

I'm new here, but it looks like there's some great information in previous GEM threads. If the timeline is the same as last year's, interviews should take place in early February 2018, and decisions should be made by early March. For what it's worth, it looks like several people received invitations for interviews at Rush within 48 hours after their application status changed to "verified" on the NursingCAS portal last year.

Just got this reply to my email:

"In the effort of time, the University verifies mailing addresses for applicants. This is done to assure that if accepted, the letter referenced in the email below is received within 10 business days. Please keep in mind, official decisions will be emailed on Friday."

That seems odd. Well, we just have to make it through Thursday. I just pray that we all get accepted. I believe God will allow us to attend. I just hope the response comes early Friday. Please definitely let me know when you receive yours. Also, I think it would be a great idea if we can leave our thoughts and the process for the next semester of candidates. I usually do not do chats, but this chat has been so helpful for me and therapeutic.

I agree - does seem odd. But if that were the case you would think they would send it to everyone. I don't know. I am going to try and stop analyzing it and wait as patiently as I can for Friday. I will definitely post when I hear anything (positive or not). I also think it would be nice to post about the process etc for the next group of applicants. I definitely found it helpful reading posts from past cohorts.

I did not recieve any email about confirming addresses. Did anybody recieve financial aid email or does every applicant get that? Guess we have 1 more day but Im so anxious now.

Based on posts I have read from previous cohorts, I believe the financial aid email is sent to all applicants. I think in the previous forum they called and asked admissions about the financial aid email and were told it is sent out to applicants who are still being considered.

It look like from the last forum that they received their decision emails around 7:51 a.m./8:00 a.m., so I guess we will receive ours around that time tomorrow. I know that I will not get much rest tonight. Well, at least, we only have to make it through today. I am going to watch the clock like crazy.

I don't know about the time stamps on here, but I do recall Molly stating at the First Look that they would try their best to have decisions emailed by noon.
