Hey! I just submitted my application for the fall 2018 GEM program at Rush, and I thought I'd start a new thread where applicants can compare stats, share thoughts, and/or ask questions.
I'm new here, but it looks like there's some great information in previous GEM threads. If the timeline is the same as last year's, interviews should take place in early February 2018, and decisions should be made by early March. For what it's worth, it looks like several people received invitations for interviews at Rush within 48 hours after their application status changed to "verified" on the NursingCAS portal last year.
I know. I am trying to calm my nervousness. It does not feel like the days are going by quick enough. I know that Rush is more expensive, but I definitely want to get accepted. Are you going to work and go to nursing school? I hope that we received the email early Friday morning.

My plan is to not work the first semester and then see how I feel. By the 3rd semester I plan on working (not much just like a shift or two on the weekend) as a nursing assistant. Good way to get a foot in the door at a local hospital. How about you, planning on working?
Okay, so I just got an email from Rush saying I will be receiving a very important letter in the mail in a couple of days. Also said, "Included in the letter will be your username and password for the University Portal and information about accessing your Rush email account."
Kind of freaking out, making me think maybe I got accepted, or do they send this to everyone who got interviewed?
Hello all, I got the email too! What an ambiguous email, it's making the waiting even more suspenseful. Fingers crossed for everyone that it's a good sign & one step closer to our acceptance!!

I emailed them back and asked if this was an indication of admittance, I don't really expect a response, but figured it couldn't hurt to ask. Just as I had convinced myself not to get my hopes up, now they are sky high again!
I got one too. At first, I was nervous that it may have been a rejection letter sent to me. However, I noticed the statement regarding the username. This does sound good, but I am going to try to hold my excitement until official notice is received.

I did the same thing. Didn't want to lose my spot if I don't get into Rush, which is my top choice. Is it Friday yet?? :)
