Has anyone used RUE for excelsior classes? I was just wondering if it was better to go through them than excelsior alone? I have heard of a lot of nurses around my area going through them vs. going straight through excelsior..just for the motivation and extra help if needed...Any thoughts would be nice!?

my BF did it thru RUE and she said she couldn't have done it without them, I personally bought all the books from them and never even requested them for shipment, just because I lack the discipline to study on my own. However; if u can study in your own, then RUE is def the way to go!

if you can study on your own, then no publishing company is the way to go. rue, college network, etc. is a waste. if you insist on it, just buy the books online and save a few thousand.
many people, including myself, like studygroup101 which has study guides for all the classes for less than $60.

Feel like I was misled by Rue. They told me what prerequisites I needed which included a&p since mine expires this month! Didn't bother to tell me that if I go ahead and enroll with excelsior (back in April when I signed up) that my a&p would be accepted. They tell you just enough to get you to agree and without knowing what questions to ask you get pulled in.

That's why Excelsior clearly states that only Excelsior admissions counselors and academic advisors are qualified to evaluate your credentials. Hindsight is 20/20 though.
Excelsior is not affiliated with any of the test prep/publishing companies. ( no matter what a rep says ) They have a warning on their site to encourage prospective students to be educated consumers and have a suggested list of questions one should ask before signing up.
Yeah I know that now, at the time I wasn't making the decision to go with excelsior, made the decision to go online. First choice was ISU, they send you through College Network which I had already talked to and knew I didn't want to go with them, then I choose JCTC which took jumping through hoops to get anywhere. So by the time Rue came around I had wasted tons of time and just wanted to get started, they made the process sound easy. So I wouldn't have choose to go through Rue if my decision was initially Excelsior, didn't know about Excelsior until after the fact.

I used them ... before I realized that I didn't need to go through them. Payed way too much. Toward the end used Lisa Arends cds and passed just using that. Much cheaper and quicker than RUE.
