Hi everyone.
I am almost done the RPN program.. I really want to bridge eventually into the RN program. I will not be able to afford it right now so I was wondering if anyone knew of a program or something up north (ONTARIO) that would help or pay for the funding.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!
THANKS!!

I don't know of a program that will help pay for the course, but Centennial College has paired up with Ryerson University and is trying to offer a hybrid program. Certainly contact them and see what they have to say.

There isn't an employer in Canada that offers this to their PNs. A mistake on their side but they know best.
It's only in the US that these type of deals exist.
Oh really? I know people here who have worked at facilities as RPNS and their employer has helped them pay for the bridge. Also, I hear up North is where the shortage is and they will pay for people to bridge.. or for their schooling all together :S could just be a rumour though.

I've never heard of ant that do. With health care dollars being stretched to the limit and plenty of nurses looking for work the hospitals really have no reason to pay for someones education.
It happened in a few places in AB when the bridge was for the diploma. After graduation you were tied to the facility for a few years. Mainly LTC.
It stopped suddenly.

I was researching this stuff a few months back, I myself am a PN student in Ontatrio, almost done semester 2 right now, and thinking of bridging once I'm done the program, and hoping to get at least partial tuition assistance, there is tuition help available, this is what I found so far:
http://www.health.gov.on.ca/english/providers/ministry/recruit/tuition_doc/prog_guidelines.pdf
http://www.health.gov.on.ca/english/providers/ministry/recruit/tuition_nurs.html

Hope this helps!
There is also such a thing as Second Career, but they pay only for college level programs not university, so if someone is in another career, and got laid off and want to change careers they can get some major help from Second Career... I know several people who did (myself included).
another interesting info site... http://www.health.gov.on.ca/english/providers/program/uap/guidelines/nrrri_guidelines.html
oops, i just saw that the last link is for physicians! sorry
