Hi,
This may seem like a silly question. How hard is the RN program compared to RPN? I did a semester and a half of RPN and found it intense. I didnt pass one course first semester which was my Nursing Practice. I failed the test part of the class. There were 3 tests and you had to have over 60% avg of the 3. I did not have this. I didn't go back. This is when I was 21. I was young and immature at the time. I did try hard but I know I didnt study enough for the tests in this class.
I am 27 now and ready to get my career on track. I want to get my schooling done once and for all. I have talked to the nursing professor at Northern and I will be accepted there to the program and I won't have to do the classes I passed over :).
However, I noticed that I was able to also apply for RN at Northern at a different campus and it's got me thinking that maybe I should do that. Part of me is saying I'm not smart enough so don't waste your valuable time (i'm 27 as I mentioned). How hard is it compared to RPN?
I worry that I would do the schooling and fail the big test to get my nursing licence at the end. This happened to my cousin. 4 years of school down the drain.
My initial plan was to see if I could make it through RPN this time and then do the bridge to RN. Problem is because I didnt pass one course I wouldnt be able to get in anywhere but online. Possibly Athabasca U and its 5 years!
Can I get some opinions please?
