RPN to RN Bridging

Hello,

I’m planning to apply for UOIT RPN to RN bridging for 2021 September intake. My current average is 83%. I just want to know if anyone who recently got accepted to UOIT bridging what your average was. Have any of you taken the university courses to upgrade your percentage to get it?

Thank you!

Hey so I’ve heard nothing! I’ve taken that as a no.. I’m assuming soon (or so I’d think) they’ll send the yes or no email? But im assuming If it was a yes I would have gotten an email by now.

I've been proactive and have almost completed a course with athabasca university, to help get my average up. And even enrolled for another one to start next month.. hoping to bring my average up by a few points so I’ll get accepted for next September and then I’ll have two uni electives out of the way ??‍♀️

Hi

Would you mind providing details about the Athabasca course you attended? I'm not sure which course I should take to raise my %.

TIA

Hey! I took “developmental psychology ” I believe it was called. Fairly easy. I finished with 80+ for sure but don’t remember exactly what it was. I’m currently doing the part time bridging with nipissing and don’t have to take any electives so that’s nice.

Hey

Thank you so much for the prompt reply. I really appreciate.  Do you recommend any other courses as well??

I just checked I finished with a 88 and put very little effort in LOL. I didn’t end up doing any more courses! I was enrolled in one then withdrew when I decided to go to nipissing. Sorry!

Hey,

I took a course called COMP 210. I finished the entire course in 5 hours and ended with 99%. It’s a introduction to computer course but you don’t need to know anything about computers to do this course. I ended up getting accepted to UOIT after upgrading but I ended up choosing George Brown-Trent at the end. Hope this helps

I did it at Athabasca

@Ashwini @nursejac Hi my RPN GPA is only a 3.4 and I know it won't be enough to get accepted to the bridging program.  I just wanted to know, I can take any university courses at any  university to help boost my GPA? and apply to any schools that offer bridging with my boosted GPA?

As far as I’m aware only Ontario Tech University allows people to take up university or college courses to upgrade their GPA. This can be pretty much be any course from any university or college. You mentioned you have  3.4 GPA, is that out of 4.0 or 5.0? What is that in term of percentage?

@AshwiniMy 3.4 GPA on a 4.0 Scale which I think is around 79%-80% not completely sure. But you mentioned you took upgrading university courses at athabasca and you got accepted to george brown. Im confused as to how this upgrading works.

So for me to get into Ontario Tech I had to have average of 86%. That was their cutoff this year and last year. My average was 84% so I had to take a course at Athabasca to upgrade my GPA. Even though I got into Ontario Tech for this September after upgrading I decided not to go there because it requires me to go in person for some courses. I work full time so I can’t do that.

To get into George brown-Trent you only need average of 80% and competitive Casper results.

you mentioned your average was 79-80%. You can into Centennial-Ryerson with that average. They don’t require high GPA. You can also get into George brown-Trent as well with Tver GPA long as you score high on Casper. You don’t have to take on extra courses to upgrade.

Ontario Tech is very competitive and because I wanted to originally go there is the reason I upgraded. At the end I just ended up wasting money for no reason.
