Please help out.

I am planning to take prerequisites at Mac this year while i'm working as an RPN

Question:

1. Would it help to get into the bridging program at Mac if i do some prerequisites?

2. Any suggestions for prerequisites?

3. Anyone took this route? What was your experience like?

Any tips? Advice? Suggestions?

The prerequisite for the Mac bridging program is that you completed the RPN program with at least the minimum average required. They look at your practical nursing grades only.

Not sure exactly what you mean.

I second xokw....the requirements are on the mohawk program website. you need to be an RPN registered with the CNO, you have to have the required average (I'd say at least an 85%), and you have to write a short essay.

Say if you are RPN and did all the requirements, would it be okay to upgrade some classes? From what i can remember is, they dont allow any fail grades.

At that point you would have to go back to your college and re-take the classes that you failed/didn't do well in to boost your average.

Most bridge programs won't admit you if you failed anything. How would you have graduated as an RPN if you did fail something? You can't go back and retake something after you have graduated.

I didn't fail any of classes in the PN program I just want to re-take the courses that I got low grades on to be able to do bridging.

You still can't go back and redo them once you have graduated.

I agree with loriangel14. Unless it is a non-nursing course such as anatomy, sociology, psychology, etc., I don't think you can sign up to take it unless you are currently enrolled in the actual program.

There are also schools that just will not admit you with any failed or repeated courses.

You'll have to double check with your school and Mac though.

Best of luck!
