Roseman University ABSN - July 2021

Published

Hi! This is for prospective students looking to apply to Roseman University of Health Sciences ABSN July 2021 cohort, either Henderson or South Jordan! Let's get to know each other and help each other out ?

Specializes in Emergency medicine.

I know a few people who worked, some even had families to take care of. I was able to do like 1-3 12 hr shifts a week. The biggest problem is scheduling Bec we get stuff so last minute.

Hi! Its fast and disorganized, but it gets the job done. The teaching faculty really do care, its the administration that gets tricky to deal with. My campus is in Henderson (I moved from Ca). ABSN + covid meant that in the latter half of our program we were mostly online including exams. I found that the program is pretty easy once you understand how the testing process works, I was able to work almost full time. Spent alot of time studying for ATI which is the proprietary nursing software that we use for exams and our exit exams. Hope thats helpful! Best of luck to ya: )

Thank you for your answer. Did you have a block system, I mean "one class in one month?" And what was your schedule? I'm asking because I'm from California too (my school delayed a program due to COVID), and I will go to Nevada/Utah with two kids. My husband will stay in Cali, and I need to know how to plan my day.

Specializes in Emergency medicine.

Hi yeah its block system which is awesome. So some blocks last about 2 weeks to 4+ weeks. 15 total. With clinical blocks in between. So for block 5 theres a block 5.1 which is clinicals. The schedule I think changes slightly but for the most part it follows a set of strict days in regards to breaks. We usually get the weekend off or so in between exams.

Specializes in RETIRED Cath Lab/Cardiology/Radiology.

Thank you.

hi, I have a question to current students!

Do you have to purchase Saunders NCLEX book for ABSN program ?  Is the book included among the books you purchase for the program ??

No you do not have to purcahse the Saunders book and it is not included in the program book list. Another book I would suggest is the Nursing Diagnosis Handbook, which was also not on the list, but was needed and helpful in completing assignments during clinicals.

Hi all! My name is Ariel and I'm graduating this week from the Henderson campus.

Specializes in Hoping for ER Nurse.

Hello to Roseman peeps,

Do any of you know if the Roseman University at Utah degree is approved by the California State Board of Nursing?  I know I am seeing a lot of people from California who are going to Henderson, but I wanted to know if the Utah campus degree is also recognized by the State Board of Nursing in California.

Did you figure out if this program was approved by California? Or how many clinical hours they have total? I am in the same boat, a few of my schools I applied for out of state don't meet california requirements! I hear a bunch of Californians go here though.

How to recognize if a program is approved by California? I'm from California too. I have applied to Roseman (both locations), Ameritech (Utah), and Creighton (Arizona). All programs have accreditations (CCNE). As I understand, after graduation and NCLEX, we can obtain a license in a state where we attended a school and transfer a license to California by endorsement (this information from the California Board of Nursing).

Please, let me know how many clinical hours are needed for RN in California. I can't find this information. I only found this post...California requires at least 800 hours, but it's not from the official website.

Hi! I'm looking to apply to this cohort but was wondering which program to pick on NursingCAS. There's the BSN August 2021 and the Hybrid-BSN Summer 2021 program. I emailed the admissions specialist about the ABSN program and she said 5/1 was the app due date but looking at NursingCAS, that's the BSN August 2021 program.
