I am starting a thread for those applying for the Roseman Oct 2022 cohort. I believe first round of interview is next week EEK! So nervous, but also excited!
I'm also very nervous about the essay we have to write.

I have micro lab to finish still. I think it doesnt matter unless you don't send official transcripts to be received before orientation day.

Yes! I have a few :).
1. When do clinicals actually start? For example, if we start the program in early October, when should we actually expect to do clinicals I.e. 3 weeks in, in November, etc.?
2. When it comes to getting a nursing job, can people get accepted into jobs before graduation?
3. What was your favorite/least favorite clinicals?
4. Any specific tips for the Roseman program that you can think of? ?
Thank you! ❤️

hi! congrats on graduating soon ? I'm super excited to start the program this october. I know that they don't suggest working because of how rigorous the program is - but is it actually common for students to work? I'm feeling nervous about how expensive the program is and I already have a bachelors degree, so the only financial aid I'm getting is the parent PLUS loan. Do you have any advice/suggestions for applying to scholarships, working during school, or taking private loans out? I know everyone's situation is different but any advice would be appreciated, thank you!! ?

Some of my classmates have been working off & on and it's been challenging for them and the majority of us do not work. If you have a very flexible employer, then it is possible. The schedule is completely non-negotiable including lab days, lab assessments, clinical days, didactic assessment dates, etc. so it makes it difficult to plan things! Some blocks take a lot more study time, for example, 7 days a week nearly all day for more rigorous classes. Additionally, we often don't get our clinical schedule until the week before clinical starts and we typically get block schedules about 3-4 weeks before the block begins. Personally, I did not work but I did some things on the side like Instacart which helped close the gaps on expenses and some extra money for fun things with friends! (There's a waitlist for Instacart, so get on it now for this area if it's something you may want to do!)
As for loans, I took out private loans through Sallie Mae because I am maxed out on federal loans as well from my prior degree. You will get one loan for the first 2 "terms" and you will have to apply separately for the remainder of the "terms." They mentioned having to apply a third time, but I think that depends on your specific dates and how the school year works with when you started because my cohort didn't need to. Hope that helps!
