Roseman Oct 2022 Cohort

Published

I am starting a thread for those applying for the Roseman Oct 2022 cohort. I believe first round of interview is next week EEK! So nervous, but also excited!

I'm also very nervous about the essay we have to write.

Anyone else going thru interviews tomorrow? Just turned in my writing essay sample last night, but still really nervous about bombing the Zoom interview.

Just sent my writing prompt last night too. Same, have my interview on Wednesday, feel a little better that it's on Zoom but still nervous for sure. Good luck to you!

Yeah, I feel like having it over Zoom takes away some of the anxiety, but I don't want my roommates to hear me answering the questions. Haha Have you been prepping with some of the questions posted on here? I've been slowly answering them, but definitely don't feel prepared to verbalize them to a panel.

I was told by the Roseman advisor to send it as soon as it opens so I sent it in the day it opened. I input my data into nursingcas on my own so it wouldn’t take long. A few days after that maybe 4-5 I contacted my advisor to ask a question and on that call she told me I would be in the first round on interviews so I knew early but the actual interview requests didn’t come until a month after that day.

Cool, thanks that definitely helped, I followed up with (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) and pretty much got the invitation e-mail the day after.

I feel you on that, it's definitely more intimidating when there's a panel. Yeah same, I've just been going thru the older threads checking out the previous interview questions but still feel like my answers aren't sufficient enough. I'm sure I'm gonna forget everything I practiced once I'm put on the spot ?

Yeah haha I'm having a hard time coming up with specific instances for each question I've found. For some of them, I feel like one answer can cross over into another question, so I'm worried about being asked some questions together.

For future reference in case anyone else needs the compiled list. Let me know if you found any more questions that I might've missed:

What have you done to prepare for nursing school?

How would you handle a negative environment or someone with a rude, mean-spirited, negative attitude?

Name a time when you had to earn someone’s respect and why?

Describe a time when you have shown compassion in a dire time?

Describe a time when you had to go above and beyond; how did it go?

How would you show care and compassion towards a patient’s dissatisfied family members?

Describe a time when your integrity was challenged? How did you handle the situation?

Describe a time at work or at school when you were in charge of a group project and someone dropped the ball?

What would you do if you encountered someone being dishonest?

What is professionalism in nursing and how would you show it as a student nurse?

What would you do if you were in a negative environment?

How have you inspired and set an example for someone that was struggling?

How long do they give you for the writing sample? Do we have to write a lot? What are the prompts??

They send the writing prompt around 4-5 days before your interview and you have to submit it the next day (look out for it in your email because you don’t want to miss it). The word count is max 500 words. They give you two prompts out of which you only choose one. The prompts are very easy questions that you would get asked in an interview.

Hey everyone, I was also part of the July 13 interview round (2nd round I believe). I also believe they said acceptances would be sent out the 29th. This is definitely one of the harder parts, the waiting game with the anxiety eating at you. If anyone could share their stats or talk about something related to the school or steps moving towards attendance that’d be great. I think talking about it helps a lot. And also, for those aiming for Henderson, what are your housing intentions?

I was also interviewed on the 13th. The waiting is tough. I look at my email and Instagram just about every hour. I have been watching videos on Youtube from former students and "What I wish I knew before nursing school" type videos.  I am hoping for Henderson ? I live in Las Vegas already.

I just received the admission offer, but I consider declining it... bc I got a offer to SLC campus and I live in Henderson. If there's anyone who wants to go to South Jordan Campus but accepted to the Henderson one, please let me know. I emailed them about this already.

I was accepted to the south Jordan campus October cohort! Anyone know if there’s a fb page yet ?

Also got my acceptance to South Jordan, but not sure how to feel due to the housing situation vs Henderson with family.

Yay! Congrats everyone! I was also accepted to the South Jordan campus! What is everyone's housing plans?
