Hi. I am on a 2 year track to getting my associates in science. I want to further that with a bsn but i think since we are military i am going to get my RN license first with a associates then move on to my bsn. Here is the thing though i am just starting it this summer. I am taking 4 internet courses and then taking actual classes in the fall. I hope to be able to get all my pre reqs done to apply for their nursing program the following fall or spring, whenever it opens up to. I am really pushing with this.

What are their requirements to get accepted? What do you need? I have my CNA license already. I am not sure if that will help me or not. I struggle with dyslexia and dysgraphia and was always told things in life would be hard, in fact my parents never made me push for anything and they would always talk me out of hard stuff. In fact they are doing it to me now with nursing. I struggle with this everyday and i know i can do it but i just fear that i won't be able to get in with how hard i have to work at things.:crying2: Do you think it will be possible for me to get accepted eventually? I know i know i shouldn't be so hard on myself but its really hard when everyone expects you to fail. I have always wanted to be a nurse..always. I don't know why i am self doubting now. taking that first step to apply for admission and take the compass was hard but i did it.

Any advice to give would be greatly appreciated. thank you!

think I will frame my rejection letter too! I was in Radiography and quit this spring to ursue nursing.. so i was freaked out the whole time we were waiting!!!

I am doing evening classes. Saves alot of $$$$ on daycare!!!

Jenny,

Hi there, I was just reading all these posts and you got my attention with the CNA points. I will be applying this Aug2012 and Im pretty sure I will be short by about 2-3 points for being accepted. Already took my Compass and will be finshing up pre-reqs in the spring. So, I really am interested in the CNA program at MN Tech to get that 6 point "cushion"... can you please tell me more about it, like how long it took, can you do it online, ect.... thank you so much for your help :)

Hello! I took a class that was wotk at your own pace and finished it in about 6 weeks (it was easy, but I was lazy!). There are no ''classes'' to attend; you do all of your homewoek and then go to the vo tech to test. There are some labs you must attend during the day during the program, but they are offered every tuesday. To be honest, I never even took my CNA test, I just turned in my certificate of completion with my application. I hope you get in! I will be finished in May 2012 and must say it has been fun!! If you have anymore questions, please feel free to email me! [email protected]

[color=#000]thank you for your quick reply. do you know if it is offered year round? my thought was to finish my microbiology class in may , then try to do the cna cert in the summer, to qualify for the august deadline. im glad you said it was a breeze, ive got a baby due in may plus a 3yr old and a 4 yr old, and i really need to get in the program asap, but without going insane, lol!

so glad i read your thread on allnuses.com~ or else i would of just applied with my 130 and not gotten in and had to wait a whole year to apply again ( they only accept online apps in aug.) and glad you suggested the cna cert at mn tech ~ seems like an easy way to get 6 points! do you mind me asking how many points you had?

so , im curious, what are your thoughts so far on the program ? details please :) sorry, i know im being nosey, but i just want to know what to expect. that is awesome you are graduating next may! i bet that gets here quick :)

thank you for being so helpful!

jenny

Hey has anyone else got their letter back yet for spring intermission? I just talked to the secretary and she said they are mailing out the letters this week. I'm still waiting.
