Did you get an email from Aries?
Stats definitely matter, but from what I've heard, RFU also places a strong emphasis on building a very diverse class. They aim for balanced representation across different backgrounds — including Black, White, Latino, and other groups — to ensure diversity within their cohort. They're very intentional about selecting applicants who bring a mix of experiences and perspectives, not just strong academics. So even if someone has perfect stats, if the program has already met its target for certain racial or ethnic groups, they might not extend an interview invitation.

I would agree up until you said they met their target for racial or ethnic group. Probably close to 900 people have applied to this program. Because of their holistic approach, diversity is a major factor but not the sole reason for extending interview invites. They have no idea what race you are when you apply. Your stats, your resume/CV, and personal statements determine your interview. Especially a mix of experiences and perspectives (like you mentioned) which is why they want to read your diversity statement. From there, you do a Kira and they assess and score your responses, which is the first time they actually see who you are due to the video. Yes racial diversity is important, but that is not exactly the only reason they may not be extending interviews. There are just a lot of applicants. I don't think they have a list where they say "okay so we are only selecting 10 Asian, 10 Latinos, 10 Middle Eastern, etc." They have stated that the earlier you apply the better, which is true. Picking 52 students out of 900 applicants is probably extremely difficult. Each and every one of you are competitive and deserving of a spot in a program. 🙂

Alexa1994 said:I disagree, the application clearly asks you about your background, race, etc
It's interesting that this is coming from you- someone who initially approached the situation disrespectfully and then demanded to know why you weren't hearing back. It's easy to view things from only one perspective, but there's often more to the picture. There tends to be a clear pattern in who gets accepted, and it's not always what people assume. The program director emphasized multiple times during the open house that the essay plays a major role in the decision process. With over a thousand applicants, they don't need to compromise on any part of their application. They will select candidates who align exactly with what they're looking for. While it may seem to you that your outcome was influenced by race, others reviewing your application might recognize that your experience (less than two years) likely had a much greater impact on whether you were offered an interview or acceptance.

And honestly, if diversity bothers you that much, why choose this program to begin with?
